actually it had not happen for a while now is back again....i did a complete network reset but did not fix the issue....maybe it will get fixed in the next CU update
I have a problem with Windows 11 24H2. After an online upgrade to 26100.1591, both the context menu on the desktop and Windows Explorer appear in the old Windows 10 form instead of the modern Windows 11 form. I've looked in the registry for known keys to get the old explorer, but those keys don't exist. I just installed Winaero tweaker to check it, and there is indeed nothing activated that prevents Explorer from displaying correctly. I haven't found anything on Google that helps me. Please, can you help me? I've done another online upgrade and it's still the same.
@jmtella Default_modern_File_Explorer_with_command_bar_for_current_user Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{2aa9162e-c906-4dd9-ad0b-3d24a8eef5a0}] [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{6480100b-5a83-4d1e-9f69-8ae5a88e9a33}] Default_modern_File_Explorer_with_command_bar Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Blocked] "{e2bf9676-5f8f-435c-97eb-11607a5bedf7}"=-
Thanks. But I had already checked these keys, and they don't exist. This is what draws my attention the most, if they don't exist, why do I still get the old explorer and the old context menu? The most curious thing is that it came out after an online upgrade. (which by the way, I have repeated and it is still just as bad) Spoiler
It seems that MS has started to roll out 24H2 officially to a small subset of Windows Update "seekers" (no Insiders)
Yes, yes, it was done (even though the keys did not exist). I have modified my previous post leaving the registration data in a spoiler.
The keys of the old explorer do exist, what happens is that they are hidden and from time to time they tend to come out if you put the ones I put in and replace them and the modern one comes out again.
Well, I'm sorry, but no, I've run the .reg and the old one is still there. I either kill explorer or run them again and restart windows. There must be something else. I've even tried creating a new user, and the same thing,
I have already tested this in a virtual machine. And both the activation of the old menus and the return to the modern one work. I insist that the keys do not exist and have not existed in the machine that I am having problems with.
With this registry key it changes it with the other one it does not. Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{2aa9162e-c906-4dd9-ad0b-3d24a8eef5a0}] [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{6480100b-5a83-4d1e-9f69-8ae5a88e9a33}]
PowerShell with administrator privileges Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth SFC /Scannow
Now the only thing I can think of is to do a full system upgrade, open the ISO setup and reinstall and keep programs and personal files unless you want to do a clean install.
