it was released yesterday for release preview, public release is probably next week for optional, and October 8, 2024 for the bundle with the security updates
So if one's online image is already 1742, then only the 1876 MSU (KB5043178) needs to be installed. If one was starting with 26100.1, it might be tedious to have to keep track of several checkpoint updates, if that was required. I'm still unsure about how all this is supposed to work, but it seems like it is designed to save MSFT download bandwidth.
When starting with 26100.1 just integrate the last (public) LCU. MSFT only overcomplicates the updating nonsense with these new delta crap.
That's good to know. I haven't updated straight from 26100.1 to 26100.1876, but 1876 kinda looks like a Delta pretending to be an LCU. 1742 is 521K whereas 1876 is only 235K. The smaller size of 1876 makes it look a bit like a Delta to me.
you literally integrated checkpoint update windows11.0-kb5043080-x64_LCU_1742.1.10.msu not the LCU LCU is KB5043178 come on, this RP update will be revised for Retail next week
I literally just updated using the public LCU whatever nonsense term MSFT puts on it. When i meant to say a IP LCU i would have specifically mentioned the IP part.
next week you'll find two LCU MSU files on catalog as KB5043178 and you will be forced to integrate both
Hence the overcompliating part, "to decrease the updates size" now you only need to download 2 to integrate.... They stopped using the express cabs but some turd at msft thought of this new updates crap anyway...
they are saving bandwidth because it's expensive, like this LCU is only 200 Mb. for those who already on 1742, they don't care about anything else (like that FoDs updating mess)
