Feature Enablement for Windows (Ge) 25H2 Insider Refresh - KB5066383 - 2025.08 D Nice update label for the 26220 ekb
That one is a 7 year old pcie gen 3, if your controller is pcie gen 3 then it is ok, is the controller higher pcie gen 4 or 5 then i would go for a faster one.
All this has already been discussed and explained last week, yes for updates people still need to be enrolled into the RP channel, but we can't test till there will be a new LCU on WU.
So, the pcie gen 3 aren't affected? If I'm understanding correctly? I was just wondering if samsung's phoenix controllers are affected, since people are only mentioning phison ssd. I guess I'll wait for 25h2. Hope it is going so solve that vague ssd thing. I mean are NVMe affected, or just SSDs? Or just sata or m.2 as well??? Honestly the whole thing is vague, at least to me. But then again, in that case, I'd have to change the board as well...and ram...and cpu. Plus my TBW is still on below 50%. So a lot more to write
QVO is QLC (Quad Level Cell, four states) NAND, cheap but less TBW. EVO and EVO PLUS usually uses TLC (Three Level Cell aka 3D, three states) NAND, a bit more expensive but more endurable in terms of TBW. The PROs use MLC (Multi Level Cell, two states) to my knowledge, very high TBW but expensive. I've heard there may be even Enterprise-grade drives using SLC (Single Level Cell) NAND, probably not affordable by end users.
