So downloading this link I mentioned won't change LTSC to 25H2?

Yeah, an old start menu. That's a bummer. They said they'll include the new one.

They scratched all that and moved it up to a new build...

Relax, by the time W11 2997H2 comes out we'll have the new start menu.
Right now they are busy trying to shove their Copilot+ PC and AI crap down everyone's throats.

Why use a filehost for free to download updates directly from msft servers?

Guys, stuff like the start menu is decoupled from platform changes. They could put the new start menu in build 22000 if they wanted. It will release once they are happy with it stability-wise and feedback-wise, stop speculating on build numbers.

yeah yeah yeah I know, I know

what I mean is for features like this, this is not how the individual teams at Microsoft think. They work on the start menu, gather feedback, work through their bug boards and then ship the features. The actual feature developers often couldn't even tell you where it will end up, or when it will ship. Platform changes (what the Canary channel is used for) nowadays are mostly for hardware enablement, everything else is very modular and are usually just a matter of being a feature flag, as people will surely have noticed by now. Yet with every single feature the thread is flooded with "is this part of build xy"?
