Option 1 needs the system to be offline during the upgrade setup steps. Option 2a fixes the ISO and option 2a is needed to fix the registry ot the install you want to upgrade. Both options should work fine, keep in mind that option 1 is a standalone option and 2a en 2b work together.

I am trying to reproduce but i am starting to think it wasn't the cpu utilizing that i meant, it more likely was the exceeding of the max turbo speed of my i9 11900 (not specially overclocked, just the standard bios settings).
On my test system the microsoft surface wireless keyboard/mouse combo does not respond when booted in winre (26200.6899). Enter this in an elevated cmd prompt: Code: reagentc /boottore And next reboot, it will enter winre.
