So I got this installed and noticed something super interesting. If you run explorer as SYSTEM you still get the old Windows 10 taskbar; I'm guessing this means the new taskbar is just a wrapper. I wonder if there's more to unlock with registry edits or the old redpill/bluepill crap
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\MMTaskbarEnabled DWORD=0x1 This is from the same guy at twitter who gave the registry key to get "old" start menu back.
That almost did the trick, but applications still don't show on the extended taskbar. The start menu does work on each task bar, in spite of the start button not showing either. Pretty funny.
I can confirm that Open Shell works. Occasionally it stops working until you reboot again though with this early build.
The leak is genuine. No Chinese/Indian hacker can splice the new theme and taskbar on 21H2 build just like that and not throw up a single error during setup. This build is very much made my Microsoft with proper digital signing of files. This build is just a precursor of what will eventually become Windows 11. Apart from modified Windows theme and taskbar, Windows itself does not contain much new features to warrant change from 10 to 11 Let's sit back and enjoy this build until real stuff drops on 24th. Just 8-9 days to go.
Obviously if its not a 2200 build yet, its not going to have NT kernel bumped to 11.x Faking a leak like this and not breaking something vital in the process its very much hard, plus looks like they knew this build leaked, based on the twit the official Windows acc posted some hours ago
