i think if we use legit win10 key while 21996 installation then taskbar icons option for nevercombine appears in settings.
So it appears Windows 11 is going to end up being based on the NT 10.0 kernel after all. A very solid base. Also this is the first time ever since 2015 that the Windows version number doesn't match it's product name. But, does anyone think they'll bump the kernel up to 10.1 or even 11.0?
the most important thing users installed 21996 build on old hardware & its going flawlessly for them. even i experience it on my official desktop going very smoothly .
OMG as June 24th inches closer I get more and more eager/anxious. I want the friggin' non-leaked, public release LOL. I'm only using 21996 because I'm sick of Windows 10's outdated UI and because it feels slow/sluggish if compared to 11.
Thanks. 100% I am using one of those devices and love it. Fingers crossed they will will RTM and ARM version and we would be left abandoned! ;-)
Very cool. I wonder what the ramifications are for using different win10 setup files when attempting to upgrade a system. I can't imagine they would be too different as the OS isn't very old. You know how Windows does that jank thing where it tries to save large portions of the registry and upgrade to a new version, especially with regards to programs like MS Office and such? I'm curious how very old versions of Win10 would compare to newer versions of Win10 would work when upgrading systems with a win11 install.wim
Ok, so I have the iso, I've grabbed rufus, I know I need to replace appraiserres.dll in the sources folder, but I don't remember what to replace it with. This thread is now 45 pages long, so if someone could be kind enough..... Thanks.
Just reemplace it with a copy of that file but from a 19043-21390 iso. i heard some people even just googled the file and changed it, but not sure about that
https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...nel-co_release-leak.83658/page-7#post-1666472 Heres a copy of appraiserres.dll from 1703 which does the work flawlessly.
So I got the dll, tried to copy it to the mounted image of the iso, would not copy. So I'm loading rufus as is and gonna give 'er a go.
If my terminology is correct ...... rufus puts it ' To go ' on a USB stick flat = It should go in useing DISM without any added dlls
I am surprised by how fluid and how fast this OS feels. Man it's so much faster than Windows 10. The animations, the UI... Awesome.
Alas, won't install, This computer can't run etc etc... And I don't seem to have any bios options the turn on tpm.(oldish hp laptop)
There are three possible solutions take the install.wim out and put it in a19041 / 2 / 3 iso or put that dll in to it or quicker , easyer = Boot from a usb stick and use a DISM command ( or Dism ++ ) to lay it flat on your chosen hard disk
Ok, as I had no joy the first time I tried to replace the dll on the mounted iso, maybe the dim command might be a better oprion, if only I knew what that was...
