KMS_VL_ALL does not provide HWID. MAS contains HWID activation and KMS_VL_ALL provides KMS activation. MAS also provides license switch but it will have the same outcome as manually running the slmgr command.
Hi Gents. I'm starting to use Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 more, and have noticed there are Apps that it's lacking that I may want to install. Don't get me wrong, this version of the OS offers up a lot, especially to me with various PCs that lack the resources on new Boxes. I wonder if there's a list /site where the Apps normally found in Windows 11 Pro and this version are compared? Yesterday I was a bit surprised by the lack of WinGet when I wanted to pull down Chrome (and then tried Brave), on an old Dell Latitude 3540 Service Tag 6DWSQZ1(~11 years old. It's so old Dell has re-used the Model Number again ). I read up on a MS site how to pull down and install WinGet but decided it was just easier just to use Edge and pull Brave down from the Web. My thought is this Dell will just be a Web Surfer, and do Office Docs -nothing very intensive. This Dell was obviously lightly used, and I've installed a small SSD to go with it's 16 gigs of DDR3 RAM. Since install I've been testing it to see if it's robust enough to continue using. I ran Memtest86 for hours in various configurations which it passed no problem. Then I did Prime with good results, and finally AIDA64 Engineer which it passed as well. For grins I ran Crystal Disk Mark on the SSD, and even it meets spec. I'm not certain I want to push the Dell any further as it is over a decade old. So I'm thinking of calling it "Good". What do you think? Am I missing something? Thanks for the assist.
Yes, I do understand the need to balance out, and eliminate unnecessary Apps, but like on the MSI I did a few days ago (my son is using it while I see if this Dell is a solution), there is no Photo Viewer which for most folks (especially if you have a Cell Phone - which almost everyone does) is a requirement. I do think the Photo Viewer I pulled down from the MS Store was too resource intensive and looked like it had AI features which are not needed. I'm looking for something more streamlined for the Dell. On the other hand, I've used Windows Update on the Dell, and I noticed that in Settings it had Game Bar stuff enabled by default which I thought was weird. I wonder how much of that is going on wasting resources even with LTSC? Do you think my hardware testing was adequate? Thanks for the assist.
easy to remove unwanted lines in bat (clear text) file or change desired apps if you want first lines install winget and second lines test installed winget...
Being on IoT 26100.6899 (hardware not supported), WU says: Installation error. The following update could not be installed, error 0x800F0983: Update preview (KB5067036) (26100.7019). Given the persistence of this infamous error, has anyone found a solution, or is the only option a repair installation? If so, could someone kindly indicate the correct procedure? Thank you.
@Enthousiast Sir, thank you for your assistance. I had already tried the usual repair options (sfc, dism), and resetting WU had no effect. WU troubleshooting does not work in LTSC. As I wrote above, the only option seems to be an in-place installation, but the updated ISO I made does not work either. Could you tell me the correct way to do it?
I am about to go to have my car tyres checked. What do you mean with: inplace upgrade does not work? the progress shows errors or it doesn't solve the issue (should be uptodate after the inplace/repair upgrade) Hope to be back in an hour or so.
@Enthousiast sir the updated and fixed ISO I created suggests installing only the Home and Pro versions. I definitely made a mistake updating it with UUPdump.
