Gents, I'm not getting the point of tweaking the base image if Windows Update will do it for you later. Have I missed something significant here? I do see the need to add Apps for certain installs as the base image is very clean of crapware. I'm currently toying with the idea of changing my Main Box from Windows 11 Pro 24H2 to IoT Enterprise LTSC before it's pushed by MS to 25H2. Another option is to install and update 25H2 and Debloat it. The downside there is Windows Updates can keep adding it back in. The installed image is "old" by my standards (February 2023 when I built the Box) as I usually do a clean install every two years. I'm not a gamer and mostly I find myself doing less "real computing" on this Box as time goes by. I used to make "home movies" using Power Director but haven't even installed it on this Box. I wonder if AI will become something I want to use and if 25H2 is going to be better for that, or will IoT Enterprise LTSC be fine with it?
I've spent an hour or so trying to download "Windows 11 IOT LTSC" that isn't an evaluation iso, that massgravel can activate. Can someone point me in the right direction.
Installed fine on two x64 machines with Win11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024, while on my ARM64 laptop it partially broke my Italian language pack leaving me with most of the things translated and others (like Settings app menus, most right click buttons, old Control panel and other things) remaining in English... :/ I tried to restore health with DISM, sfc /scannow but no errors. Reinstalling language packs, switching between English and Italian, nothing worked. I think that they're just late on ARM64 compared to x64 and language packs still need to be fully patched there after the update.
Does Windows 11 IoT LTSC support MAK keys? I intend on logging in to the OS with my Microsoft account and I prefer not to use the KMS optoin. I managed to purchase a MAK key from eBay for Windows 10 and it's been working great for 5 years, but now I'm looking to upgrade my machine.
