Used Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 build 26100.712 for a couple of days and it works fine as a daily driver (office, few games). I was surprised to discover that it´s possible to create installation media that set up a local account to bypass the Microsoft enterprise account sign-in requirement that could be connected to a Microsoft account using the "Family" feature in the accounts. The benefit is a clean OS + the managed OS features provided by MS Family. So far no Copilot and very few apps installed by default.
Funny thing. ExplorerPatcher installs fine with a renamed .exe, but attempting to uninstall it gives the "this can't run because it's buggy pop-up, preventing uninstall. Any suggestions other than RevoUn?
I've played with this a bit now. I finally knuckled it down to installing Non-iot, uninstalling Edge plus anything else I dont want then using MAS with HWID whch changes it to iot LTSC. Happy days. Note, by installing English UK and fully updating to 712 in Non-iot I did not get copilot app in taskbar. Upgrading to iot & then searching for updates again I did not receive any but the usual copilot and WIndows AI are in gpedit.
I recently installed the 26100.1 leaked iso to see what's in store for the next LTSC. Most things still work as with LTSC 21H2, but not everything. Location services in 26100.1 causes some applications to not longer work if the service is set off. On 23h2 Education, those same apps still work when the service is off. Namely WifiInfoView (nirsoft) and Homedale (sz Dev). The other problem is that there are no buttons to turn off individual apps requesting location access. It's all or nothing. Each app should display a button to allow or deny. Anyone else see these buttons missing?
