this build is unbootable on Core 2 Duo Architecture...even with workarounds...i hope technicals find a better workaround...or else end of the line.
That has been for quite a while now, since a pre 26000 IP build (iirc). And even when you can get it running what would it be used for. just install 2016 LTSB or 2019 or 2021 LTSC.
Has anyone noticed that the "Remove Recommended Section from Start Menu" Group Policy item does not take effect on the IoT Enterprise LTSC SKU? It does work on the Enterprise LTSC SKU. Just not the *IOT* one. This isn't a blocker or anything, just kind of annoying. Does anyone have a workaround?
Installed IotLTSC 26100.1000 with my security and personalization settings, and the AI is not only dead and gone, but there is no "AI components installed: none" page either. It's as if they never existed.
Good to know. I cant stand the recommended section. Especially when nothing is there. Why to this day MS still wont let us have control over our start menus is beyond me. EDIT: Did policy for user and computer, also deselected Show Recommended... in start preferences. But the one that appears to fully remove is Layout > More Options, also in start preferences. This is also the iot EVAL, so not sure if itll be different on non-eval versions.
24h2 need popcnt aka sse 4.2 ( missing in core2duo , Stay on windows 11 23h2 or use windows 10 iot ltsc 2021
Population Count is not the same as SSE 4.2. It is a different instruction set. Core2duo can work with 24H2, but it has to be a Penryn based (45nm) core2duo. Those have the SSE 4.2 instruction set. As for the popcnt instruction set, it was first introduced with the Nehalem architecture. So, if you really want to run 24H2 on your legacy Intel LGA775 platform, instead of changing the whole combo it is way cheaper to get a Penryn core2duo processor. They can be had for a couple of dollars. Cheers.
Appears this can't be installed, on LTSC at least. Program Compatibility assistant blocks it? Had to rename installer. Also, didnt realize it actually installed. Appeared just to crash everytime, but it actually works.
Your theme looks awesome. I will be glad to learn how to. Notepad++ and browers not good at black theme. Is there a way to keep them their original white. Which theme is this? Need patching?
I keep trying Win11 and I really don't see the point over Win10. It has 0 real advantages and various disadvantages. The taskbar, which is the part of the OS for which I interact the most, is broken. Is bigger, uglier, and I cannot use it with Taskbar Tweaker so that I can move tasks around. And the worst part is that I cannot have a two lines taskbar. I hope by 2035 Win12 or 13 or 14 are better.
Well if there will be real usage for Microsoft to add second or even third task bar like for example placing ads on it you surely will get it i think last useful windows is windows 11 22h2 22621.2283 I like it's gui over win 10 but after this build they're just adding more crap and in latest builds they're adding only crap and trying block people from removing it. If you feel alright with windows 10 then don't upgrade unless you're interested in seeing ads?
That is why I am still using Win10 and not 11 . Like I said, I check Win11 from time to time, and even Linux.
Yes, please share your methods. I'm doing some tests with 24H2 right now and would like to add your 'secrets' to my offline package.
i am kinda out of the game here, so please bear with me. Knowing that, luckily enough, I will use standalone apps on my workstation (which really will be just for data management) and that I would like to have a true localized Windows installed, my question is: Do I lose any benefit by installing a vanilla fr-FR ISO of Windows 10 IoT Entreprise LTSC 2021 and then upgrade to 11 IoT Entreprise LTSC 2024? I don't wanna temper with the system (even with added locales and tweaks, an en-US is still en-US) and I will need to start work soon, way before official 11 localized ISOs are made public. My motivations for using IoT Entreprise being the minimal footprint, the non-telemetry and basically, the most lightweight version of all. (Wow, it was my first post after reading and learning so much here.)
