Comparing to 22h2, 24h2 is far behind. Idle Cpu usage from 0.5% to 2% while 22h2 idle usage 0%. Nothing has improved for an average user but Microsoft made many changes to make sure user doesn't remove packages Microsoft doesn't want them to remove. Been testing 24h2 for weeks now and it's big no no no so keep it Microsoft

mine is running with an i9-9900X X-series Processor @ ~ 5ghz, I did not notice 2% usage on idle apart an occasional spike.
agree that there is too much junk in this edition and does not fit MS LTSB/C "critical system environment" scenarios.
no harm installing on a spare partition to experiment with, can always do a quick format to get rid of it!

Hey, may I ask what scripts you exactly used on it? I work a lot with NTLite, mainly to remove all the spy-sht, debloating and pre-configuration, but I still need a preset for reducing the background services and tasks.
Also.. very weirdly I on my current system (what has enough ram [32] and place for pagefile), I need to close and re-open the browser (around 15GB) otherwise system weirdly crashes into black screen.
Idk what that is about.. I would guess it has to do with the GPU, but it runs smooth, driver is up2date and no any other problems with it (although its pretty old one), so yea.. obscure..

I would prefer a maximal fast desktop (so simply stuff like browser, explorer and other less cpu-usage 2d stuff hurry in their jobs), but even on a friends system (modern i9) its same slow.
So yea I dont know what else I can do, except for simply using a different operating system.

That's what 24h2 is good for at least for now. But I don't think it will get much better in the future just as 23h2 didn't get better they just added backup app some emonjis and similar crap to it called it 23h2 and hello get yourself new windows. 24h2 got aix and similar crap dynamic tuning lmao, power saving mode anyone? Ehh.
My 22h2 when I don't use mouse cpu stays 0% 12400 yours likely uses more power while idle than my 20% load lol mine downclocks to 700mhz when nothing running. Anyways I will be staying with 22h2.

When it comes to 24h2 there's no issue removing packages using free easy to use tools like cbsenum or even dism. The problem is that after you remove packages slim down os and then new update shows up WU won't let you install it. Not sure if in case of ntlite it works or not.
Never really tried ntlite I was always enjoying playing with windows myself sometimes like the one I'm using now 22h2 took me some 2 months on and off to make it the way I want. No hyper V and other packages I never used in my life no telemetry etc no sfc dism errors and interrupts are 0 sometimes when using Bluetooth will jump to 0.2-0.5 and no event viewer errors. I have upgraded from ltsb 2016 and wouldn't if it wasn't working better and it does uses only 200mb (1.5 after restart) more ram than ltsb 2016 while connected to 65" tv.

Ahh okay well, thats not a big problem. Most updates are for stuff that I remove anyway, do not need that much of,
NTLite has option to install update manually, integrate, host refresh, like redo all the removings after updates again.
I mean, no advertisement but I can highly recommend that tool, makes working with windows much more lesser pain.

I also will never buy intel again, AMD comes handy in so many things.
Edit: Oh wait, you probably mean the E-cores, well i prefer hibernate when I do nothing.

  11. Something in that build is broken atm. Avatar Frontiers of Pandora and some other games crash to desktop, with no specific error. No solution so far. That's why i moved back to 2021.

Surely not worth it. Either stay with 2021 or get yourself win 11 22h2 pro 22621.2283 if you don't want backup app in start menu. Use msmg toolkit to debloat cbsenum if you want to strip it down even more, dark Dinosaur script to disable telemetry etc remove edge disable defender if you want it few regedit tweaks, will look modern and light as ltsb 2016.
Or get yourself iot ltsc 2024 and see errors in even viewer, then task manager and cpu constantly being used plus there are bugs but I don't think even Microsoft will finish 24h2 it will be worth upgrading if you aren't interested in power saving mode, save the planet that will lower brightness and that's it, Or some other crap like aix.
I been upgrading 11 22h2 to 24h2 about 20 times now debloating different configs and always went back to 22h2 but knowing myself I will keep installing it on a spare drive then formatting it spitting on the screen saying foff Microsoft keep it, lol

Has anybody encountered error 0x80242016 with the .1301 update? Nothing I tried worked to fix it - I tried repair upgrade, WU reset, some service tweaks etc.
Only integrating .1301 with W10UI to the LTSC ISO and performing an in-place upgrade allowed me to install this build.

You have tweaked disabled or removed something Microsoft didn't want you to. That's the most common reason as to why updates fail on 24h2.
