2024-08 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5041865) ,,,,installing17%, and does nothing. hi any way to install this update? thank you. Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100. 1150) C Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. The Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC operating system and its user interface
Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 24H2 (OS Build 26100) is worth using for daily use? Is it better to wait for the final version instead of the preview?
So this Windows 11 iot enterprise ltsc build 26100 is still a preview version? Is that what I'm understanding? Will there eventually be a RTM final version of it?
build 26100 is rtm and will continue with CU unless a major thing happens 26100 is going to be release public September, October
Hello all, I've been running LTSC Iot 26100 since July 1. There's an issue I just can't seem to find a solution for. Usually I google or experiment on my own, but not making any headway here... When I return to my computer from say sleeping, going to work, etc, the monitor won't come on after suspend. If I manually turn off the monitor and turn it back on that's the only way I can get it to fully light up for me. The power plan I'm running is the Ultimate Performance plan. Box never goes to sleep, but my monitor suspends after 30 minutes. My video adapter is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070Ti. I've updated the drivers at least twice since installing this LTSC. This problem did not happen when I was running the overbloated non-LTSC version of Win11 mean for the peasants. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there something else I should be lookint at?
I've got no resolution, only a slight guess at the issue. I have witnessed over the years some graphics drivers outputting a slightly invalid (out of specs) video signal in certain situations (refresh rate usually). This causes some monitors to stay in DPMS Standby, others will display an "Out of Range" error instead.
So, after avoiding 11 initially to wait for LTSC and LTSC having now in usage for a little bit, begs the obvious question: Does the 11 LTSC hold up to 10's...?? To be sure, I absolutely love 10 LTSC, but as time marches on, upgrading becomes more logical. So I am mostly seeking opinions as opposed to ironclad guarantees. For those who switched, was it worth it..?? Are you happy with the switch..?? Does it function as well..?? Problems..?? Does anti-virus have an off switch..?? And maybe all the other pertinent questions I'm forgetting to ask. Thanks guys...
Antivirus "anti-virus have an off switch"? So far I think Windows has not changed its "antivirus" it is still Windows Defender, because now Windows Defender is even more integrated into the system I doubt there is a permanent shutdown of this antivirus. (unless you install another antivirus) Disabling real-time protection is something that does not last forever and usually turns back on after a while. It is still (according to me) to use the AveYo script to disable and enable defender without problems or use other scripts published on this site.
i have installed 24h2 about 20 times by now many different combinations trying to make of it what i made of 22h2. you can easily disable and remove defender smart screen etc, block windows updates from offering or installing security updates. there are still bugs in 24h2 things arent even ready like intel dtt i use when you open task manager you will see cpu constantly in use by services around 0-2% spikes to 5% if you really need to upgrade i would better go for 22h2 22621.2283 as it doesnt include backup app and cpu stays 0% usage when you stop using your mouse. myself was able to make of win 11 22h2 ltsb 2016 which i really liked but couldnt do the same with 24h2. after many trials came to conclusion that i need to take aproach i took when 23h2 showed up and simply skipped 23h2 and will do the same to 24h2 as theres almost no usefull changes 22h2 vs 24h2 sudo ? lmao power saving mode? lmao microsoft aint planning to make any real changes to windows anymore, changes i mean making it more user friendly, inventing new start menu or even desktop they became almost enemy of the user as for long time theyre making harder for people to remove crap from windows they dont want and theyre adding more spying and more ads and that aix package thingy foff microsoft.
I highly agree with you I stopped using 24h2 because it literally overheated my laptop & my laptop shut itself down because of it & every new update I try out/reinstall 24h2 to see if somehow temps are fixed & nope they are constantly close to critical temps. This does not happen at all on previous versions of windows 11 & especially windows 10. So eh 24h2 is just bad (well on my end anyway) & personally sticking with any version of windows below 24h2 going forward.
Yea, no any problems so far on my side here. Using pretty old AMD-system with even older GPU. Although to mention I'm using a customized version, I removed every build-in Browser (IE, EgdeLegacy, EdgeChromium), the whole Defender, everything that has to do TMP, Windows Update and a lot other telemetry/privacy things. Not really playing latest games (performance consuming) with it, and not tested that much yet, but everything is smooth and cooled as before.. not met any issues yet, just much lesser pre-installed bloard-ware I had to remove with my tool. To be fair, I would give so much about opinions of any YouTube-influencer, they over-hyping/over-dramatizing things continuously. Even LinusTechTips guy is not that everything-known genius as people try to portraying him.. the boost is probably few more FPS because lesser background s**t runs same time as in previous builds. I guess they not have full hardware support/fixed bugs yet included, I mean that thing is not even officially released, if any problems, I would back to previous and wait few months till they release + fix the biggest issues.
