never had any issues with 22h2 any blue screen or something didnt work the way it should, very few event viewer errors. it all depends of what you want of your os, i have removed everything i dont and never in the past used like hyper-v i would if i wanted and had a time create ltsb 2016 out of 23h2 but theres no point as no positive difference between 22h2 and 23h2 so i just skipped it thinking i will upgrade to 24h2 but still not happy surely not for now, likely in the future will try again. if you wanted to install 24h2 now i would go for pro as you can download it from uup and remove things edge etc you dont want from upp config file, so its basically ltsc 24h2 but you could already have photos store etc installed. plus if you do gaming i think pro will be better. most i dont like about 24h2 is that services constantly use cpu even when idle not sure if microsoft will optimise it or its because of theres no intel dtt drivers for my motherboard yet. i really like i mean when i open task manager and leave mouse alone seeing all services slowely going to 0% cpu usage. Thats how i expect stable windows to work also no sfc dism errors and interrupts in task manager.
If you are on ltsc then install the store with wsreset -i command, install new notepad from the store, disable system notepad in fods settings (the same for media player and other stuff like paint, some programs are not listed as fods but available for removal in usual place)
@Paul Mercer Well, I prefer not using an app instead of the real program, just was wondering, thought the programm also has dark-mode, but thank you anyway for the instructions.
I have 16gb ram and ungoogled chromium uses on average 150 to 300mb ram and with lots of tabs open less than 1gb. It's not about how much ram windows allocates but how much libre asks for i think libre has a bug somewhere. Shouldn't use that much ram probably some memory leak. As to sysmain you can disable it in services don't remove it. It's service that supposed to speed up boot time and apps but it real world it does nothing if you got ssd and modern cpu. You can also disable hibernation if you don't use it in cmd as admin powercfg -h off to gain gb of space on C. As to sync service it responsible for syncing emails and other things useless really unless you want popup on your desktop everytime you get a new email to disable it you have to go to regedit svchost and remove onesync from there, won't start anymore. If you're using 24h2 as your main os you shouldn't it ain't stable yet there are bugs in it.
Well, this'll teach me to think something's good. One of my reasons for migrating to 11 was to use the Android apps on windows. I now learn that this new feature has been discontinued. Consider me steamed....
Install latest 24h2 so you don't miss all the new features Microsoft has invented like Aix aka recall and power saving mode etc
on this edition, is there a way to disable defender and then make sure it's trully turned off without install or run any files from internet? no registry tweaks since may not always work. thanks!
