I have compilation 22621.1194 installed and I am left without an internet connection sometimes the router works since it goes on another computer, I have to deactivate the Network adapter and activate it again to have access, which can be due since it does not on the other computer I have that abnormality. Thanks
after applying 22623.1245 any app takes forever to open Edge or Explorer do not do it, however Firefox or any portable waiting for them to open is infinite Has anyone else noticed this?
maybe both ? i got it on the standard channel when you install windows.. but it didnt install automaticly.. i had to click install.. (maybe optional ?)
Yep, having the same issue. It's like the OS has to take a minute to decide to run each new process. Have you previously removed or disabled SmartScreen? EDIT: I have clean installed Windows (build 1245) and have found out that if I disable Defender, the pauses return. So I actually think this is SmartScreen causing the issues, as I removed that from my previous installations, and have been for years with no issue. Nuking smartscreen always fixed this behaviour in the past, which normally came after updaing builds of Windows, and was simple to remove again. But now the problem remains after removing it. So maybe MS changed Defender or Smartscreen in this build. I also found a bug in screen scaling. Even if the display is set to 100% font rendering looks like it's still being scaled, kind of like its set to 101% or something. but if you set a custom scale to 100%, the font rendering is crisp and without artifacts... FWIW I use an ultrawide monitor so YMMV.
yep, both of them, disabled SmartScreen and Defender I will verify by enabling... UPDATE: having Defender disabled causes the delay
I'm running 22623.1245, and I have not noticed any slow downs on opening or starting programs. I updated by downloading the files and running W10UI, and Defender is disabled automatically by Eset (my preferred antivirus).
it was released on Jan 17, 2023 it's not new at all, file version and checksums are the same and it's for all channels
So I guess we are all forced to run Windows Defender now. My feelings are that MS has changed something in SmartScreen, and the old removal method is not working somehow.
Does anyone have any Info on what all may be included in Moment 2? This is the end of Jan. so Microsoft should have a good Idea what all they want to include in Moment 2
