That is a very misleading statement. Google will provide a lot more, but basically it was impossible or virtually impossible to update the integrated computers on the space shuttles. Instead, astronauts carried modern notebook computers to perform most of their work. You have to bear in mind that the space shuttles flew from 1981 to 2011, a span of 30 years.
I disabled "Show widget badging" and "Show widget on hover" in Widgets panel because most of the new are bad and annoying. MS was should allow enable News in widget (app) and not showing them (the news) on each tile in widget panel. I think Widget is fail !
