I'm dual booting Beta and Canary, am I double glazed?

 

22621.2129 is running solid!!!

 

Earlier I installed some apps like CrystalDisk & Hard Disk Sentinel to check a HDD

since then I noticed all drive ICON changes from this (default)


to this



Now even after uninstalling (& reboot), ICONs are still the same. Any way to restore it to the default one?


EDIT: NVM, found it, Hard Disk Sentinel is the culprit, had to delete the (leftover) values from the registry in order to change it to the default icon.

 

Does the Beta has the new archives support (7z, rar, etc...) or that is still in Dev only? I have read some sources that says there is in Beta but I don't have it so maybe it's behind feature flag?

You might want to leave it disabled ...i had to manualy disable it, check a few posts back

ok fresh installed 22621.2129 joined the insider's beta so now i have 22631.2129.now i have icons on desktop all blank to i refresh desktop anyone else ?

if Canary means unstable, then current beta channel is more Canary than Canary

beta should be renamed canary+

Public 22621.2134 is finally super smooth and snappy, Windows 10 style.
It took 2 years after W11 launch, but they finally got there.
Better late than never I guess?
