@MS_User He meant repair install, where you use a windows 11 media to "upgrade" your current installation.
Type cd \Windows\System32\Sysprep and then press Enter. Type sysprep and then press Enter to open Sysprep GUI mode. Choose Enter System Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) and tick the Generalize checkbox. Select Shutdown from the drop-down menu. Then click OK. Dont bother with gneralize option, youre not planning on using the image for another pc it will clean your system and give you a fresh start without losing any desktop apps .....microsoft apps will need to be reinstalled but you can use the restore option in oobe experience for that If its your user account thats corrupt ..this will fix the taskbar Other than that you probably need to repair/upgrade using an iso ...dont use the option under recovery
well let me tell what actually worked for me after trying a bunch of other work a rounds... i just upgraded to 26100.1 and my taskbar is back.....my opinion skip 22635.3495 and wait for the next release this CU is super buggy save yourself the headaches....thank you guys for the feedback
26100 is 24H2 Ihe Official Build of 2024 22631 is 23H2 Dev Builds will stay on 26100 Canary Builds will soon change to 2025 Builds
Glad it's back to normal, and may I ask if I upgrade my W11 PRO to the 24H2 Enterprise and keeping all my files, apps and settings?
I don't need to, I just pull up cmd after first reboot, type oobe\bypassnro, hit enter and move on. Or better yet, use an answer file so I don't have to even type anything extra.
i believe enterprise requires a clean install because win11 pro is a consumer edition ....but they mite be a work around were you can upgrade and keep all your settings.
Wrong. You have two easy ways: 1) Change your edition from PRO to Enterprise just changing serial number - prior to upgrade (one reboot is needed. You may use gvlk key from product.ini - see post #1 in this topic), and after upgrade to 24H2 2) Alternatively, you may just change registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\EditionID to "Enterprise" and (without reboot) inplace upgrade keeping apps and settings. This way you can also upgrade to Enterprise LTSC (or IOT LTSC, or anything else) - just set the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\EditionID to the target editionID before running setup.exe
im aware you can change the serial from pro to enterprise but he wants to keep all his settings and apps......so like i said the work around requires some changes in registry .....i have never use enterprise in win 11 sense im not in a domain setting or require high security features.
I upgraded from pro to enterprise using the generic key (the one ending by 8HV2C), keeping my settings and applications, and finally activating to get a HWID.
