I uninstalled the .65 CU, rebooted PC and blocked the KB using wumt and deleted contents of Windows/Software Distribution folder. Got my context menus back and I am now again on .51 build. Good riddance.
Just updated, no it doesn't work anymore as you say, ooh that awful new context menu! I'm sure someone will work the tweak out again. Small taskbar and start menu on left still work. Is it my imagination or has the spacing between taskbar icons grown even bigger!?
Problems occur when people try to make current build look like the previous. The best option is to learn the new OS, and what you believe needs changing, post in Feedback Hub.
No one is trying to make it look like any previous build. It's fair to say that the new right-click context menus have been met with huge disapproval both here on MDL and Reddit. Applying a registry tweak is no big deal and easily removed.
One thing I don't understand is: Why go through the trouble of installing Windows 11 only to disable its features and make it behave like Windows 10? Isn't it much easier to just keep using Win10 then? I know its a matter of preference... I just find it strange. For example: I'm finding it a bit hard to get used to the centered taskbar... But I'm forcing myself to use the OS that way... Because that's the new UI layout going forward and Microsoft might even completely remove (as in removing the actual code) these legacy features in a future Cumulative Update.
Applying a few registry tweaks to replace disliked features isn't necessarily wanting it to behave like Win 10, again the new right click context menus have been met with a LOT of disapproval both here on MDL and Reddit. Changing that, resizing the task bar and moving the start menu position are just visual tweaks. But of course each to their own, everyone will naturally tweak their system to their liking.
I installed Windows 11 without joining the dev channel and I received the .65 update while I'm on the stable channel
@Enthousiast what would be the difference between 2 similar versions of 22000.65 on uupdump.net... Code: Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22000.65 (co_release) amd64 and Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (10.0.22000.65) amd64 is one preferred over other or they both gonna create the same ISO? Many thanks in advance.
Updated my main machine from win 10 .1023 to win 11 .51 via inplace upgrade with an iso created with uup dump, it worked fine with no issues for a week and today upgraded to .65 via WU although i´m not enrolled as insider. no issues at all and still working fine.
Yep. Not sure, haven't noticed to be frank. Had done it already. I upvote every annoyance Windows 11 needs to get rid of. This build has this new key that most likely has to be correct as well. Good riddance, indeed. I will most likely do the same.
The Insider Preview option contains some more updates, i always use that one or the one named feature update. From the UUP dump tutorial:
