What fixes pff - it works as intended - you either have it on, or you don't, no "whitelisting". There's a typo at the tags for this thread. ni_release instead of nice_release
From MSFT's pov, UUP was never meant to create a bootable installmedium (although Reset PC has the option to download UUP files for resetting the PC). MSFT's focus seems to be (again) on OEM systems, mainly touch devices, the majority of consumer level users won't ever manually install windows themselves (from boot) let alone use UUP (dump) to create an ISO to use (MSFT created the MCT/Upgrade Assistent for it and offers direct ISO downloads).
There's a lot of small size files but it's possible to download all apps just running download script several times. aria2 will check everything and will download only corrupted or missing ones We can even download and integrate only Frameworks, Store and Security Health apps now so it would be less bloated, I guess @abbodi1406 will add this option at some point Anyway I'm glad it's even possible to automate apps integration process, huge thanks to @abbodi1406 and @BetaWorld
Clear performance degradation of which I am not sure when was introduced but 22000 RP vs this build makes CPU performance worse. Tested on SOTTR. Saw a similar report of CPU performance issues with this build on Reddit. We're both on AMD Ryzen systems (Zen+ and Zen 3). 20%~ performance loss for me.
Please excuse if this is a stupid question, but since this build is in the beta channel as well, would it be safe to switch to the beta channel, and then be able to do a direct upgrade once the final build is out? It should be, the way I read it, but always nice to get it confirmed
I know there is a way to go - but it has some features that I really need So I plan on giving it a week or two to see if anything has been noticed before upgrading.
Yes - you will go through the beta builds and then automatically end up with the next 'final' one. Remember that the window to do this is only open for a short while - as long as the Dev channel is receiving the same build as the Beta channel. Once MSFT release the next Dev-only build, you will be updated to that if you are still on the Dev channel, and you will have lost your chance.
Wrong - by May the window for doing this will probably have closed, and Dev will once again be receiving Dev-only builds. MSFT have made it clear that those who want to switch channels like this need to do it ASAP.
I guess we'll have to wait and see. In the past, this would have been the first of a series of beta builds. But with 22000, they just kept patching until they were happy, so the released build was already patched to the eyeballs before the monthly updates even started,
This build still doesn't allow any way to increase Taskbar size. Looks like that option is removed permanantly?
Ive updated through beta channel to this build ....why cant we arrange the icons in notification tray on the right?, Also i cant remove files from recents
