Remember: You only have a license to use Windows in certain situations.
Remember: Microsoft is a publicly traded corporation.

It all depends on the hardware.
We have ASRock H61M-VS motherboard with 8 GB of DDR
The machine is used for experiments with the OS

I tried to install it on another machine
    Soltex JP24 socket 462/a
    Duron CPU, DDR400, 2GB RAM
    Lags horribly, performance is impossible

It never ceases to amaze me how obsessed people are with RTM. Like, what difference does it make? None.

I got error 0x800f0988 and can't download and install this update. I tried :
    1) Install manually.
    2) Try windows update troubleshooter.
    3) Use dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
    4) empty the update cache.
    5) sfc /scannow

    And it doesn't help.

And graduate to expert status. Every RTM news is keenly awaited, tweeted, posted, replied, re-replied. People have nothing better to do and maybe even dont know better. Each windows version can be a pleasant experience or a MS bomb on your system. What you get will be known only after you get it. But to be fair, MS cant be blamed completely. Unlike Apple, MS has to hope that their product is safe for millions of configurations and billions of combinations. Perhaps, they should have a regulator like in pharma. Phase 1, 2, and finally phase 3 where the risk of getting GSODs daily or hourly can be managed to just a small proportion. The rest can enjoy the benefits of a newer software, whatever that is.
