Build day by day you waste much more time installing them than seeing what's new
ps "This channel" is ms canary not this thread every new build

 

If you think it's useless, just don't install it.
It's not a compliment to install it yourself and then gossip about it.

PS:
If you want to see new features, you should install the "Dev" channel instead of "Canary".
If you don't think it's a waste.

Gallium, which actually is Windows vNext, should start testing this week or the next.

Zac Bowden informed me that Gallium is the name for the Development Semester for Windows 12, just as Cobalt was for Win11.

For God's Sake I really hope we finally move away from Zinc (which is Xbox OS, and stopped at build 25398).


So from what I understood:

rs_prerelease / ga_release / ga_prerelease (Gallium) = Windows Hudson Valley;

zn_release (Zinc) = Xbox OS v2308.



Should be build 25890!

 

With July 4 next week, we probably won't see anything on canary for another couple weeks.

Windows 12 RTM build guess: 40000 range.

 

Good morning. Guessing no builds until the very end of the week because of the July 4 holiday.
Or even no builds at all this week.

 

As I predicted and unsurprisingly: No builds on any channel this week. They've just announced on Twitter.

After installing the video driver, the AURA RGB Lighting Control stopped working.
I rolled it back.

 

this build has timebomb, it can't be final
25398.1 build is final for Xbox (not sure about Server but it's available on UUP dump without timebomb)

Zinc is only for Azure Stack HCI and Xbox OS AFAIK. No Desktop release for this.

Next week we should start testing true Windows vNext bits on Canary.
