Time for you to nuke your existing install and download and create .71 iso from uupdump and perform a clean install. It will iron out all the odd bugs you are facing. Don’t forget to back up your important data before formatting your C:
Yeah looks like it. I don't mind fully shifting to Windows 11 and starting afresh, but before that I need to ensure there's some parity in benchmarks between Windows 10 and 11. The other option would be do to a dual-boot.
Also noticed that Go back and Reset buttons don't seem to work. Any idea if a rollback to a previous installation can be done via the command line?
Yeah the recovery environment didn't show the option of Go back to previous version of Windows. However, selecting Uninstall the latest feature update did the trick and now am back on Windows 10
Yes, the original 'one-click' option for choosing the default for photos, music, browser etc is entirely missing. Made worse of course by the fact that the upgrade from Windows 10 appears to reset all these back to Windows defaults. I know I keep bringing it up (and have reported it through the Feedback hub), but if they don't fix this before release there are going to be A LOT of complaints about it when it rolls out to customers, and MS will presumably say nobody brought the problem to their attention. I must stress there will be a lot, because we tend to forget in grroups like this that 'normal' users will have no idea how to choose, individually by file type, the default app to use. In fact I know from experience that a lot of home users even find the 'one-click' option confusing - but we're talking here of folks who don't know what a browser is (believe me, there are lots).
What is the point of an internet forum at all if we're not allowed to express any opinion without a full phd with thesis on the topic at hand? Do we have your permission to talk about this build sire?
The issue that I see is the Intel Graphics driver that makes the widgets to go blank or completely invisible with only the background displayed. One cannot continue to disable the Intel Graphics driver to resolve this issue. This should be more or less Intel problem to sort out.
As each new build of Win 11 drops, there is apparently no truth to the rumour that Microsoft are hell bent on ending all support for point and click! j/k Enormous line spacing (for tablets) seems increasingly contagious! Can't they implement a Tablet/Compact View option systemwide!?
Well. I found a fix which is working for now. Just forgot were it was Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Spynet] "SubmitSamplesConsent"=dword:00000001 and save it as spynet.reg
I expressed my opinion just as you did, I didn't say it's not allowed or something so no need to strawman my words and bite with sarcasm. Good day to you
I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm just trying to make the point that I think we'd all prefer if people did not try to gatekeep valid opinions. If I refrain from using hyperbole it's like I'm telling you what to do. If I use hyperbole, I'm strawmanning. I'm just trying to use rhetoric to make a point. I don't want conflict. I want the board to be civil and I want people to be able to express their frustrations and concerns with the build. While not all of their concerns may be valid, some of them might be and we'll never know if we don't hear about them. More information is better than less, even if most of that information is not useful.
