maybe someone here can assist me, maybe not... Problem: i have now upgraded 5 PCs from W10 to W11 and the new File Explorer is nowhere to be found. I have uncheck separate processes, and even tried the same via registry. I have clean installed W11 on 2 PCs and both have the new File Explorer. I have attempted an in-place upgrade/repair install of W11 on 1 of the 5 PCs with the issue, but it persists. Any thoughts on a solution without doing a clean install on them? Thank you.
Yup, for reference, I have an LG 27UL600-W, NVIDIA 471.22, it gets significantly worse if you try restarting DWM. The only time it seems to work flawlessly is when enabled in combination with HDR10.
It's always done that on mine. Reverted several times back to 10, it still does it on the latest build. If you check Event Viewer you will find that widgets.exe is crashing every time you click it.
Just updated from 10 (again) to 22000.71, using WU. Once again all App defaults have been reset to Windows defaults during the upgrade process. That's your favourite photo viewer, favourite music player, favourite browser all set back to MS defaults. The default Apps section in Settings is still unuseable for the majority of normal people, as there is still no one-click way of setting (for example) your default browser. Expecting normal users to trudge through a list of file types one by one, and set the browser for each one, is going to break the vast majority of their machines if they attempt it. And Microsoft will presumably apologise and say that testing didn't make them aware of the problem, even though many have already reported it on the Feedback Hub.
Anybody using the (left or right) taskbar Reg mod on .71? Wondering how well it works. I've heard reports that it basically breaks Windows due to things like Explorer restarts, at least on earlier builds.
I've had nothing but luck with a clean install via Enthousiast's tool. The oddest things are the store which was refusing to install anything before updated everything and installed a demo (Forza Horizon 4) just fine for the first time. Stranger still, it's actually allowing me to use the Insider page rather than it being completely blank now. And where it previously told me nothing was available and I would only get 10 builds, it now says something to the effect of I'll receive new builds up to the release of 11 and then it recommends a clean install of Windows 10 after that. ...Which is a bit bloody weird given it's allowing me to use it up to then, but hey.
Align centre/left is a setting by design, the registry tweak was just a quick way to set it. It's at: Settings > Personalisation > Taskbar >Taskbar Alignment And still works fine. However the Taskbar size tweak now breaks the system tray/notification area alignment in build 22000.71
Just create a new user in the upgraded machines and see if it works.. If it works its easy to move your documents and app profiles from the old to the new profile surely easier than clean install
Sorry, my fault. I meant the one to relocate the taskbar on the left or right side of the screen (vertically). That has had serious problems but I'm wondering if that's still the case given the updates this month.
thats because it doesnt happen to everyone. if you cant reproduce the steps other than all you did was upgrade, then how the hell do you expect them to fix it? This isnt like when an upgrade erased all your personal data, this is pretty low on the list of things to fix since it doesnt cause real damage
Hello, I'm trying to launch Energy options from taskbar but suddenly after the Settings app opens, it just crash. Is anyone facing this issue too? Thanks!
