TPM is not required for some Enterprise partners, so I guess that is where MDL custom tools comes handy.
If Microsoft is actually going through all the trouble to really lock out all people without the newest CPU on the market and TPM, well then i hope that the next version of Windows 10 LTSC is based of Windows Server 2022 Build 20348. Funny how this makes installing unsupported versions of macOS on older hardware sound much easier than installing Windows 11 on a PC that's just one year too old
judging by the current updates for windows and server, LTSC 2022 will be based on windows 10 19044. -andy-
I think that wold be unbeliaveble. For one it would force MS to have the extended support not for one but for two different branches (in addition to 2015/2016/2019)
LTSC based on Windows Server (year). So 10 LTSC 2022 will be 20348. The server has desktop experience. Then 19044 would be Windows Server version 21H2 and Windows 10 version 21H2. This is SAC and for server doesn't have desktop experience. LTSC and SAC cumulative updates are not interchangeable.
You also have to wonder what the point is of allowing devices they are just going to kick out at the end, even if perfectly working, is, because testing on them is pretty much invalid.
i can only say i am very impressed with the benchmarks on Win11 and my system Intel Core i9-10980XE and a RTX 3070
I'm impressed with it on everything from my unsupported 8-core AMD "cheapo video editing" box built in 2017 (no TPM, no option for one) as far back as my 2011-ish Aspire One D255 Netbook, with a stunning 1.6Ghz dual core, crappy onboard Intel 3150 and a whole 2Gb of RAM, and a laptop from approx 2013 - and even the Raspberry Pi 4 4Gb (overclocked to 2.1Ghz). I don't own a system it doesn't work perfectly on, yet they're going to force me toward "unofficial" sources to be able to keep using it anyway. Because... reasons.
i remember way back 1997 pcmag article they say buy a bx chipset it will last 10 yrs or more and they were right
my thoughts i don't think ms is push to buy new hardware they sold enough laptops , pc, and etc with win 10 during the pandemic that's why there stock was $24.00 a share now it is hitting the $300.00 mark IF YOU PURCHASE A CHROMEBOK WILL YOU PUT WIN 10 ON IT NO .so Windows 11 is new tech and Win10 here to stay at lease ever 2 more years after 2025
My 12 year old XPS laptop, after upgrade to SSD, is more powerful than the cheap Walmart laptops presently being sold. It is being retired solely because I can't get updated drivers for Generation 2
