Weird. Could not update via full iso (it would fail at first reboot), never on insider on this machine, but it suddenly offered it via CU today and updated fine.
Can you recall the events that led up to the error? How did you install this build? What source did you use. What install method? Did you interrupt Windows Update at any point? Did you use any Insider Enrollment registry tricks? Forgive my curiosity. I'm not trying to accuse you of any wrongdoing. I'm just trying to learn about a potential issue with this build.
Yep, but you don’t get the new store for now I’m guessing when they start releasing the new store apps (cal, paint, notepad, etc) you won’t get them without insider channel.
I have 22000.120 installed on my HP Spectre 360 laptop. About 30% of the drivers posted for Windows 10 won't install on Windows 11. HP is quirky about drivers, they take the vendor drivers and modify them to work with certain versions of Windows like 1903 and another set for 1909. But they stopped providing newer drivers after 1909. And because my warranty has expired I can't even download the drivers that are posted for my model. But if I log out, then I can download the drivers. Go figure.
ME TOO hehe I went from 22000.100 to 22000.120 from UUP dump I used both 22000.120 but no mater what I ran in to Safe_OS boot problems and it would go back to 22000.100. then I thought what the hell Ill give windows up date a try and it worked. not sure why the ISO's are not working.
Hmm, I've been starting to hate M$FT attitudes are playing with their faithful followers since Windows 1.0 Someone remembers how things worked !! What are s**t ... with this w11 s**t or maybe a 2nd Windows Vista ....
I've looked and it seems like Spectre 360 laptops seem pretty new. I'm not sure how new. This is still in beta and they might be finalizing drivers. I'm not sure. You could try bugging their customer support and ask them if they have any beta drivers for this build. At the very least it will prod them to let them know that people expect them to come up with driver support. If they have already come up with some, they might have posted them in a forum somewhere and they could link them to you.
Playing with 19043.1023 > 22000.xxx by WU (WU will download 22000.1 + SSU/LCU 22000.120) on 100% unsupported hardware (no tpm, no uefi/secureboot/first gen i3 CPU). With the new du for sources appraiserres.dll will get replaced in "C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\" because kb5005403 now contains the new appraiserres.dll from july 28. 2021 (the previous DU for Sources didn't). Upgrade by fixed ISO (appraiserres.dll in the sources folder replaced by the one from 1703) still works.
Thanks for your efforts, much appreciated. Curious, if you boot into Recovery/WinRE from that install does it report 22000.120 or 22000.1?
