Once I disabled Windows Defender on Windows 11, performance has exceeded the performance that I had with Windows 10. Antivirus in general are performance killers. I only use Application Whitelisting to control which binaries can execute on the system and from where they are allowed to execute from.

So far I am very impressed with Windows 11 performance. The UI I am still getting used to though.

When I was testing my NUC11PHKi7C on Windows 11 I was getting frequent fan ramping to maximum for seemingly no reason. The unit runs cool and quiet under Windows 10.

Yep, plus OEMs are probably already configuring their machines since the first released 22000 builds as imagined

With Microsoft Announcing 5 Oct. release date for Win 11, you can figure Win 11 is done. Working on Bug Fixes now.

Agreed, there are many shell bugs that need to be fixed... Windows 11 isn't ready for prime time yet

It’s an API which is already in the OS. We will see games releasing in fall/winter take advantage of it. My money is on Forza Horizon 5 which is releasing around 9th Nov 2021 will be one of the first few titles to showcase the technology.

It's funny. We all know Windows 11 is just Windows 10 with a tweaked UI and a few other minor changes, yet Microsoft are still shipping it so fast that they can't even finish the stupid thing, and even pulling major features at the last minute.

Does anyone wonder why we haven't seen this new Direct Storage interface yet? Is that going the way of the Android App support...?

MS have so lost their way under mr Deverlopers, Developers, Developers, and Nutella. It's sad to see.
