DirectStorage will fix(hopefully) the hitching/stutters in many games. A cancer that plagues many games(Especially those using unreal engine(Fallen Order etc)).
My understanding is that you need an NVMe that's at least 1TB and DX12 card with shader model 6 support. That's assuming that they even put it in the final build which I'm not even sure they will if they can't be bothered to do anything but bug fix.

Yeah, I read that as well, but I guess it felt appropriate to go with the initial announcement requirements. Like the TPM requirement initially being 2.0, then temporarily reduced to 1.2, then back to 2.0, sometimes these adjustments aren't exactly permanent. There are often reasons why they choose the initial numbers that they go with. I'm not saying that they can't change that. It's just something I don't know enough about it to say for sure.
I don't see why you need 1TB, 250/500GB should be enough as long as you have the required free space for the game.
Looks like all is set for 22449.1000 to release on the Dev Channel. Please Microsoft don't scrap the build. Just release the bits OK? LOL Seriously I do hope we really get the first Nickel build this week. And I guess this one will feature the first preview of Windows Subsystem for Android.
