Should be 11's new motto Sing.... "although I see it thus far, I could do with a dammed taskbar, oh MS can't you cease, with your bulls**t if you please"
I have to agree about the taskbar . so much is removed. I dont remember anyone wanting so much removed. but ive noticed this about software threw out the years. more and more gets removed and want to charge more for less but this is how things are going for now.
People who like W11 over W10 so far are vastly superior compared to who complain. And usually people who don't complain don't post about it on forums, but just use the product.
I really don't understand all the bitching, apart from a few niggles (which are actually pretty easy to workaround), I am finding W11 a lot nicer than W10.
Windows 1.01 brings back memories. I actually used that program at work. Before Windows came along, the only fonts available were the fonts that were built into the printer. Usually printers had two fonts; Serif and Sans Serif. Windows had graphic fonts to give printed documents more variety.
Remember when they gave away Windows 3.11 with a Logitech mouse? for $6.00 you got a mouse and an operating system.
Come to think about it, Windows 1.01 had definite hardware requirements. You could not load it unless you had - wait for it - 640KB of RAM, seven megabytes of hard drive space and support for a CGA, EGA or VGA graphics card.
2 weeks away from release i was expecting lots of updates maybe tomorrow update the final cut and by the weekend isos hopefully.
Not new, seen it before a while back. This is what the scaremongering, by many "tech" websites, about MSFT saying no updates will be offered on unsupported systems was based on, and did that happen?
Got it in one!!!!!! Note the statement "wont be ENTITLED to receive updates". Thats not the same as you wont get updates. its all in the words. If you will not get any updates, that would have been the wording. Entitled means you should not get it, but you will anyway. You should not accept them as your not entitled to get them.
And keep in mind that MSFT considers full WU upgrades as (feature) updates too, maybe they meant to say that, who knows, all we now know is that atm simple hotfixes are offered by WU on all hardware and no IP enrollment is needed.
Yep, what I think they mean is more simple. The once a year feature updates that upgrades the system to a new build number you wont get, they will try yet again to implement the hardware restriction. However in a crafty blurring the wording, they try to imply you wont get updates either for a specific build. As all have said, business suicide to do this on people with existing builds. The trouble with M$ is, they try this every time a new operating system comes in, and seasoned users are awake to this ---- BUT I guess a new generation who dont know better get sucked in every 5 years or so.
I remember standing in line at the Egghead Software store for the release of the first version of DOS that could address higher memory, above 640k. That may have been DOS 6.1 or 6.2, something like that.
