I think the only difference will be that the launch version will possibly have a later ssu/lcu installed in the iso. Also I'm not sure the insider versions where they have like 12 different indexes will be on the consumer iso. It will probably be limited to like 4 or 6 with half of those being the N variants for EU compliance. If anyone is wondering, no this is not the final iso, but you're probably not going to be harmed if you install this. Like people have been saying, as long as you have internet access and are willing and able to download the updates, you will be able to download the final version just fine.
WU will just install a new ssu/lcu combo on systems already running 22000.xxx. When upgrading (aka feature update) from a lower build, like 1904x.xxxx, WU will download 22000.1 + ssu/lcu/du. This is what i expect that happens.
KNOWN ISSUES We’re investigating reports from Insiders in the Beta Channel where after upgrading to Windows 11, they are not seeing the new Taskbar and the Start menu doesn’t work. Mmm kinda risky making (22000.194) a baseline build release? No?
That would be very painful for people with slow internet. IMHO better to completely disconnect from the internet while installing if you don't have good speeds.
Just wait for 5th Oct and things are gonna blow up. Windows 11 in its current state is actually unusable and I am seeing so many random bugs and reliability issues even on latest 11th Gen i7 11700K.
Hmm. I've also had more green screens of deathliness with .194 than every prior build. ...Obviously means ready for release! FULL STEAM AHEAD! - Microsoft, presumably.
Different appraiser.dll version has different behavior for incompatible hardware. The version of appraiser.dll in 22000.194 uupdump iso is 22000.1, inplace upgrade is not allowed. The version of appraiser.dll in 22000.194 official iso is 22000.194, in place upgrade is possible if accepting the warning notice. Hope there will be some modification of uupdump scripts to upgrade appraiser.dll to current version.
