Using Win_11_Boot_And_Upgrade_FiX_KiT_v2.0 I have produced this ISO: Windows11_InsiderPreview_Client_x64_en-gb__22000_FIXED_2021-09-29 using method 2. Contained in the readme is a reference to method 2 being capable of an in place upgrade. I have a spare running Windows 10 - does this mean I could mount the above ISO from the windows 10 install and upgrade to Windows 11 before the official release date? Best wishes
Yes, but upgrading from a lower major build (any win 10 build) to a higher one (22000.xxx or any of the current dev channel builds) is a normal upgrade.
Thank you for the rapid response. I've had to think about your answer. Do you mean I could upgrade my Windows 10 install to Windows 11 - by a method as yet unknown to me - right this very day without running setup from the aforementioned W11 fixed ISO? Best wishes
All else fails use Win_11_Boot_And_Upgrade_FiX_KiT_v2.0 . it does all the stuff needed to install on unsupported hardware which Ive found systems 10+ years old run just fine with Win 11 Yep have done this many times over on different systems , be it fresh install or upgrade.
I think every single build you´ve said "this will be final" or "i think this is final" and so and so... and you were wrong
Why is it taking a lot of time to create ISO using UUPdump. Its been more than an hour and its still not finished
Probably because your antivirus is observing the proceedings with avid interest. Look at the CPU usage in Task Manager (sort by CPU).
Should update just fine yes, the bumps probably to include new release notes, EULA, remove any left over "release preview" tags all that stuff and a clean ISO for media creation tool and download with the operating systems code untouched (minus change to build number). I think OEM machines will be shipping with the build prior to 194 that had an ISO image. I think 194 ISO came a little to late for OEM's to work with. A new 252 ISO dropping this week would defiantly be to late. So anyone on =< 194 just does a windows update, first time boot for new OEM machines and gets updated to this new 252. Then new ISO's come out of 252 that people will refer to as RTM. (more accurate description would be the build microsoft want you to experience)
I have Windows 11 Enterprise, os build 22000.194, i check for updates now but there is no update for me, ( I'm not at in windows insider program, I have a clean install on my computer ) in internet I found this, Microsoft is *internally* testing Windows 11 build 22000.252 for Beta/Release preview, 22000.194 has internally been bumped to 22000.252, he has an internal flight tracker, the build is real. Βut personally I think it's too late now for beta versions in 6 days we have October 5th, the first official and full version of windows 11.
That's because there is NO update, nothing is bumped to 252, this only means that MSFT internally is testing a new LCU which maybe and when actually released will give you 22000.252.
