yeh, I turned off secure boot just for fun for my W11 to see if it made a difference. Me typing this says my legacy boot option works just fine with W11..

Lets say I use UUP dump to download the latest Dev insider release, install it with a local account, and use offline-enrollment to get into Insider releases. Would I still get insider updates (CUs, insider graphics drivers, etc) as if I were signed in with a MS account?

When you install a DEV channel build you're automatically enrolled into the DEV channel (local account or online msa), MSFT only asks you to sign in the IP app to have more control over your settings.

Hardly ever they will release LCUs for DEV channel builds, only tests to test their systems.

Stop with the official ways, officially enrolling means restrictions.

The whole reason i put this crap together is to circumvent those restrictions.

I (and many others) have tested this on 2 ancient core2duo laptops, an ancient i3 first gen and on a i7 5xxx, only the last one has some sort of win 11 support (it has a tpm 1.2 not a tpm 2.0), and all were able to install 11 on.

I just want avoid to lose all the work done (I know: everyone tells you dont use an Insider Build as an Official one, but I didn´t expect I weren´t unable to update and being forced to a clean installation meaning to install everything by scratch).
And having spent weeks for customizing Win 11 I won´t like losing it all just coz MS decided so (unfair decision).

If there´s no mean at all to me to bypass this scenario I´ll try my way and if negative I´ll revert to Insider using the backup and will stay till the new Insider Build release.
Apart my Windows BTSources folder contains no files at all, just a folder named Panther, so I can´t rename, overwrite or delete the .dll file you wrote me.
    Why? Who knows?

By now to me its not important meeting the MS requirement if not losing the spent time in customizing my OS (software, profiles, directories, etc.).

    Regards.

@juancito1968 I just want to have this clear, kinda lost track. On what exact build are you now on? You talk about having customized win 11 for weeks (not my advise to do but that is my personal opionion), are you on 11 now?.

Hi, my actual build is 10.0.22471.1000 and I started with 10.0.22454.1000 (quite late, I know, but I got no time to try it earlier). And yes, Im on Win 11 desiring to update to 10.0.22000.194 without having all my job gone for good and trying patching it (never done it before).

So, you're NOT on windows 11, your on the DEV channel, to be able to run 22000.xxx you need to clean install.

Or to put it another way, your on a totally different Build. You cannot DOWNGRADE to 22000. If your heart desires 22000, then ONLY OPTION is backup your data, settings, files best you can and start all over again.

And, in this case, can I patch / merge the reg / Open Shell / Start Menu / Partitons from the DEV Channel? Macrium write that using server edition I can reinstate backuped partitions on a different computer, so I suppose I could do it on my own pc as well?

Your tweaks are not related to keeping partitions, i am having a hard time following you.

Main data is backuped, but I cant downgrade to Windows 10 coz when I installed the Dev channel of Win 11 I did coz my Win 10 Dev channel stopped working and my backup copy was too old to use it again and there was no way to recover it (tried all the known ways), so I formatted the Win partition and started a clean installation of the 11 Dev Channel.

And now I´ve reached a no way out it seems to me.

Let me have a go. All the patches/partitions etc etc etc you have done all apply to a totally different build. That build is in development, and WILL CHANGE over time. You can try and move them accross to a new install, BUT more chances than not, they may stuff up the new install.

We have stated before, if you want 22000, you have to start all over again, with twigs etc that people know DO WORK with 22000. NO OTHER OPTION.

Got it in one. You only have a limited time to revert back to windows 10. If you didn't do a full mirror backup, (which is said verbattum over and over again) well simply put, your stuffed.

I´ll try to make it simple:
    1) I´d like to save the Programs and Temporary Files partitions on my SSD in case they got lost (partitions backuped with a Macrium Reflect Server 8 edition installed on a flash drive; backup stored on an external HDD).
    2) Once did the clean install of the 10.0.22000.194 release may I import on the Open Shell config / Registry Editor the backuped copies from 10.0.22471.1000 in order to let the NEW registry knows about the previously installed software?
    3) May I overwrite the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs of 10.0.22000.194 release with the one of 10.0.22471.1000?

Registry tweak will be done using RegCool software (or if you know someone better, Im all eyes).

That´s all I need to know.

    Tx for everything.

    Regards.

You can by installing windows on another partition/disk
    Normally you can't.
That most likely will cripple all.

You are getting all wrong. if you see the build numbers, you will see there is not posibility to "update" from 22471.1000 to 22000.194
that would be a downgrade and MS don´t allow that.
