Just curious, what build number do you get when you download an ISO from Microsoft at present. Just wondering how quick does M$ update their official ISO's to the new build after say patch Tuesday
AFAIK .258 was the most recent ISO build and MCT ESD downloads should match the ISO build. I'm not sure there really is any way to predict if/when they will release updated ISO files. It's really at their discretion. If you're asking for opinions as to their motivations, I'd suggest that it probably has to do with the OOBE, TPM requirements, Windows updates issues. Like has been stated many times now, the old rules have been thrown out. Old rules that they had for Win10 and Refresh editions might no longer apply. I really don't know. For all we know they could release new ISO files every couple months. Or they could not release anything for a whole year. I have no idea.

Unless you require the 318 ISO for an special reason, you can download KB5007215 from MS Update Catalog and this will bring bld 283 to 318. Stay safe!!!!, JCC2
The blog post only mentioned that there won't be a optional update for December 2021, it didn't say that there won't be a optional update for November 2021
It's not installing on my PC, though (Ryzen 7 5800X). Getting an install error 0x800f0988 in Windows Update. Tried manually downloading the MSU. Got WUSA error 2148469128 in the event log. Tried extracting the CAB from the MSU and install via DISM.. Didnt work either. Probably the update is not meant for my PC or something else is wrong. Other updates install just fine.
New official base images happen when there's a significant bug to be fixed (like the data-loss ones in 1803 - never forget) or there are setup engine changes that facilitate migration towards newer builds. Normally, the esd's that MCT uses would be refreshed at the same time as the iso's, but for some stupid bill gates "640K out to be enough" reason, MCT engine is unable to process esd's larger than [uint32]::maxvalue I could not believe it for the longest time, but it's right there in the logs - file is downloaded, hash is verified, yet it fails size check. No idea why they refuse to fix the underlying issue. Maybe they can't, as it happens with so many areas of windows where the original coder is long gone, and the "new blood" that can only draw icons and emojis and cats looks at it like it's cuneiform. But that's a good thing since they had to slim-down 11 to fit in 4GB At the moment there is no reason to update the base image, the amd ryzen patches work even with the older .194, and the major ui bug was fixed with .258
My comment is to the lack of meaningful updates to Windows 11 since its public release. It has only had one so far.
Attempted a windows 11 enterprise install today on a logical partition on my MBR drive. On this drive are the following: Windows 11 Pro on first primary partition Windows 10 Pro on second primary partition Windows 7 Enterprise on Logical partition Remaining logical partition of 245.79 GB is unallocated space for the 11 enterprise. The installation began from a Win10_With_22000.258_x64_en-US_install.wim_2021-11-04 USB and fixed with option of 1 of Win_11_Boot_And_Upgrade_FiX_KiT_v2.0 (possibly 2.1 - but whatever) Set up began and proceeded successfully with copying files. As it moved to the next in the list -is it installing updates, features? - I got Installation cancelled with "Windows could not set the offline locale information." I've seen that message once before in the remote past but cannot for the life of me recall if there is a workaround. Is there? thanks EDIT: Discovered the solution was not to change the language at install set up - all good now

Ahhh, finally a worthwhile update! And it fixes the printer issues too! Thanks for the heads up Enthousiast!
Still had issues for me. The solution was to use another folder containing already-downloaded UUP files and replace the SSU and update files with the ones from the .318 version. It worked that way.
