Peeps - can't upgrade install - stuck at invalid key. I've downloaded W11 preview 22000.51_amd64_en-us_multi via Aria and tried updrage-installing the raw .iso and the .iso after both types of W10 install conversion using FiX Kit 1.7. I persistently get a check for install key, and none of the keys in 22000.51_product_ini_pkeyconfig work. my w10 is pro, with valid digital key. I've tried that key also. is there an addtional step...?
You can take the ei.cfg from the 1.7 kit and stick it in your sources\ folder on your usb stick or extracted iso folder. You're getting hung up on the upgrade path most likely It needs to have a valid upgrade path that matches the existing indexes. For most people using the ei.cfg that @Enthousiast provides seems to work when upgrading. If I recall it uses _default channel and 0 VL setting with edition setting omitted.
Using a buggy OS is a lot of fun ....... on a test box. Too many people will be putting it on their daily driver though.
Yes and no. Build 22000 is stable, no BSOD of any kind, no closing of apps or crashes. It’s only the GUI that still has minor bugs. So yeah, I’m using it on all my pc’s and so far so good. Even did some gaming, no issues or performance penalty’s.
Depends on what you are doing. I am seeing some odd stop errors on a formerly stable Windows 10 test box. I even had 2 stop errors from plugging in a USB 3.0 device, device functions normally if plugged in when the system is booted.
I can confirm that, I didn't find any bugs with the core of Windows 11 itself but its UI is full of bugs and incomplete designs and maybe this is why they will not change its build number to anything other than 22000 in the coming updates before the public RTM
Definitely not, this is far too old for any BIOS updates. I use this system specifically for testing new versions of Windows breaking compatibility. There seems to be something under the hood that isn't 1:1 with Windows 10. On my newer test systems things have been rock solid.
Removing appx apps does not cause Windows updates and Defender to break on Windows 10. This is the testing phase, and I am doing ........ testing. Weird huh?
RPC crash once while I left a test box up over night. Other than that, the crashes have been the direct result of something I was doing.
thanks. i fixed it by creating a w11 source iso with all images/indices. seems like incompatible ei.cfg as you suggested
Yes. I'm having randon shut downs. I can't even do a full system scan with Windows Security without my sys shutting down/reboot.
