Q?If I format for 8.1 and activate using the serial that I bought in the promotion of M$ by 29$ on January for windows 8 Professional 9200 RTM, will activate Windows 8.1?
No . . . . . . . body knows. If the update is delivered through the store the keys will likely not change. But it's all assumptions.
Yes. The question is: Why would u format? All these clean installation and stuff we used to do is not really necessary. Beside, u can use the new "restore" or "reset" options without lose activation and then install 8.1 update. But if u want to format and install (when is available) the full windows 8.1 iso, for no reason at all cos this is not windows XP, u can use ur paid serial to activate it.
Hi, Sorry if this as been asked before but when does windows 8.1 preview arrive as a upgrade through store will they also be a iso & when is final rtm expected Sorry again if these question have been ask
but then...., active or not the 8.1 RTM? sometimes need to do clean formatting, so I like to know if the serial that I bought the promotion will enable 8.1,Thanks
wo, wo, wo, cool, man, I didn't say if it didn't come from the usual crown, then it is not fake, that's why I explicitly said that it came from a 1-post member...... and I've seen the 9418 winmain build.
Originally Microsoft were going to remove transparency all together from the start menu (just being a solid colour) in Windows 8.1, has this changed? If it hasn't, then it's probably that build 9428 screenshot is fake, since it shows transparency.
At this moment, the possibility that those screen is fake is more likely than that's true! Anyway, on the end we'll have to wait first to the preview on 26. and further on for the RTM to see what's true and what not!
Stuff can change from the preview to the final, like from the consumer preview of Windows 8 to the final. The consumer preview of Windows 8 had full aero glass with slightly updated styling, and of course the final Windows 8 didn't have this. Changing the styling to the ultra-bland, low contrast design was a very bad decision by Microsoft. This change was also done in Office 2013 which a lot of people have complained about (it's not quite so bad if you choose the dark grey theme, at least there is some contrast). You can have a simplistic design that is attractive and pleasant, it isn't just the case of either 'simplistic, unpleasant, and boring' or 'complex and attractive'.
thanks for reminding 9418 winmain build...edited the post. fake or not that screen didn't show anything new and most comments on winforum are happy to see start button in this screenshots, they didn't know MS Officially Showed the Start button Tip in video. There is no start menu on 8.1, its just a start tip and transparency on taskbar is still there in 8.1 (atleast in leaked builds).
Happy? But that button from StartIsBack (Pixel-to-pixel ), I drawed it (start button) - I know _ttp://tihiy.net/files/WinOrbs.zip hehehe
Good morning from Hong Kong. I am not defending that the pic is real - it could be real, it could be fake, no idea. - If a build tag exists, then the full build with that tag exists, it's how the tag was "born" in the first place. - Build 9415 had a hidden start tip, MS put a hotfix to the keynote build to show a fixed start tip, there could be a difference, there were other hotfixes that showed the features in the keynote build.
