If I want install 8.1 from ISO but I have win 8 in my pc ....Do I need buy 8.1 with new key or it is valid the key of Windows 8 to install winows 8.1 ?
MS stated that them having 8 on their machines simply can upgrade through the store without any new key. When there is an iso file available, I assume, that the upgrade process might be the same but it will turn out pretty soon
can't you use the same windows 8 key ??? i guess if from store you update through the same key.. so it should let you install from scratch with windows 8.1 using the windows 8 key!!!
The upgrade process itself does not need a key but starting from scratch, I don't know if you can use the old 8 keys. We must figure out later or wait upon official statement from MS
What happens when the preview is over. Will us guys using a legit win 8 key be able to just upgrade to the final through the store?
There is no way beyond preview > dead end as it will stop sometimes next year. Afaik you can uninstall it and then run the final RTM upgrade but this is a hot wheel because no one tested it before. Best is to make a backup of your current W8 and then install the preview. When RTM is available mount your backup and install the final 8.1
In MS's official vision, either you have acquired a win8 thru legit channels, or you don't even have a win8 ISO, let alone a running win8 OS.
Chris, what does the R2 consist of? as far as performance and advancement in the Server 2012 OS? thanks
