[DISCUSSION] Windows 8.1 Preview

Should work both ways, ugrade and clean install. Upgrade is slighly smaller (around 2.7 GB afair on my Win 8 Pro WMC).

2 hours from installing the update until operative Desktop. Everything seems working just fine.
I liked this detail: with mouse, if you open Charms from the bottom or top right it will show the charms buttons near the corner I used. Screen is 1280x1024 so this is very useful.

 

If I choose to upgrade my win 8 pro wmc via ISO, what key should I input after the upgrade? The Win 8 Pro key or the Win 8 Pro WMC key?

When upgrading from legit Retail version, no key is asked, only MS account. Can´t recommend upgrading main system, as there is no way to upgrade to RTM later, you will need installing system again .

 

Remember to update after installing/upgrading!

hi,

I've seen the changes that have w 8.1 and most of the changes are superficial things, pictures and design.

I would like to know that change has had on platform since I have not had good experience with windows 8, it seems very fragile starting. not'll have as a principal at least for now. I will have w8 in conjunction with windows 7 or linux but not as a principal system.

could someone send me a link to view that technical change has had its basic platform.

I'm certain it was already posted, but is there a MD5/SHA1 string to verify integrity, specifically for the en x64 8.1 iso en_windows_8.1_preview_x64_dvd_2358761.iso ?

For now, the only way to force the creation of a local account is entering a fake microsoft account login infos, click next and wait for the error: only if you do this an option to create a local account will appear. I found this very annoying and i hope this is just for the preview. As far as you know, is there any way to create a local account like the old 8 installation?

used store and all went well. looks good but now i am bored. This Ms windows versions are like one night stands with girls you get too excited and after you get them you lose interest

 

Btw it doesn't run smooth in vmware workstation. There is something wrong. It seems very heavy. If you disable the 3d acceleration is better but still heavy. ANyone else can confirm this ?
