How can I connect automatically to the internet. I created a new connection, but no option to automatic connection when Windows 8.1 starts.
Does 8.1 have the ability to sort the start screen tiles by name? A very basic feature that was missing from 8 vanilla.
you can sort your apps on the start site, where all apps are listed, by name, install date, usage and category
I meant the start screen default view. I know you can drag tiles around and sort them however you want to. But a built-in sort by name feature would come in handy very often. The desktop has it, all explorer views have it, the start menu had it in earlier windows versions...
This build is still very much "in the rough". Features will be added and taken away before the RTM is released. I doubt, that you will be able to auto sort in the Metro UI, but you can auto sort on the Desktop.
no, there is no such setting available and I guess that is it done intentionally. As you can move your apps by hand as where you want to, a sorting system on default screen might be kind of useless
Installed 32-bit Windows 8.1 Preview in my system, facing no problems till now, no crash nothing.... Enjoy Windows 8.1 Preview -------------------------------------------------------------------- Just one question- I saw videos from which i came to know about the Dragon Start Menu Personalization Theme. But i couldn't find it in my system. Did someone here actually found that in their system with Windows 8.1 Preview? If yes, please share here, how to activate that.
I just managed to set my start screen on my Surface Pro to 6 rows of tiles. Although it doesn't seem to consistently persist; I'm wondering if it's a setting that's not fully implemented yet ?? Instructions: - Swipe in from the right - Tap Settings - Tap Change PC settings - Select PC & Devices - Select Display - Under More options, "Change the size of apps on the displays that can support it", set the dropdown to Smaller. This setting go to Default when i turn off my Surface Pro, Why ? I like this small icons and it give me more information in one row inside the apps.
About the video: afaik it was the enterprise 8.1 preview on TechEd which never was published publicly as we know
