The official SHA1 of Windows 8.1 iso is 0xD8076E029292FBC933792D215793045031255FF6 But when I check it using MultiHasher, I get D8076E029292FBC933792D215793045031255FF6 Is the iso safe? Why is Ox missing
0x is added by the program they are using to get the hash, the actual hash is everything after the 0x. Personally they should have left it out or implement 0x-HASH but mehhh..
The 0x prefix just means that the following string is a hex number. It doesn't have to be present, but is recommended.
Personally I wouldn't recommend it. It has hardly ever been used, it is confusing to new people (the important part), and nobody here uses it except maybe you
Since hashes use hex in almost all cases you can get rid of it. But in other regions it's mandatory, for example if decimal and hex/octal/binary numbers are mixed. Occasionally, you might see the old descriptor, too, the $ sign. So $FF and 0xFF mean the same.
Could someone help me how can I remove watermark in new Windows 8.1 Preview Pro with MCE? Thanks for help.
For what?" It's a good reminder that you still use a time limited time bombed version which could never been activated after that time period is over! It also shows that you use an legal version of that OS and not a pirated version!
Is there a way to cancel the 8.1 preview update on a Windows 8 machine? I haven't started the install, but last time I booted it up I installed that update to start the 8.1 preview install, but it didn't work so I just dual booted it, now Windows 8 keeps asking me to install 8.1 preview from the store Is there a way to cancel it ?
Thats what I thought too, but the update didn't install normally, I had to use the CMD workaround trick to extract and install it, it doesn't show up under "Installed Updates"
