Well, he didn't actually said that it doesn't require reboot btw, only KB2919442 if it require reboot, needs that reboot to load the new servicing stack the rest can be installed one by one in the same session without rebooting, but that may cause issues for some unlucky systems
what happened to wzor??? i know it is off topic but i can't stop my self from wandering what happened to wzor net ???
It's almost like the Update installer knows which files are in use and require a reboot to update. I don't know man... they did make Windows Vista.... we might be giving them too much credit.
Jeez cuteee, already disenchanted . They seperated the Updates for Client and Server Systems plus ARM/RT multiplied with 2 (for x86 and x64) and you will get the size. Already confirmed by abbodi1406 and debunked by others (do not name them here ).
BTW: The next time a website is caught using material/info from MDL without giving proper credits (they are that hard to sell the info as their own mostly) we should send a DMCA-like-notice to them. No kidding! Would guess there's a purpose, that in several complaints i saw so far, MDL is mentioned first, let this settle a bit .
Yeah, good example who 'leaked' info first, the used picture looked that familiar, but i couldn't see proper source to be mentioned, poor behavior. The PCBeta guys are the only fair ones in that ralley i realized so far. Correct me if there were more .... ========================================== Unfortunately EFA11s avatar could have caused the final mental breakdown, of those thefts of intellectual property of MDL(as EFA11 posted it here first [for the record]).
Do you have any custom drivers or anti-virus programs that could possibly be blocking file transfers in any way? Perhaps not enough free space on the Windows drive? We've been hearing about these failure to install issues for some time and the only time I've personally experienced it was on my daughter's computer when she had the previous 17019 thing /resetbase'd
No, I didn't use the /resetbase - command yet, should I ? There seem to be no issues so far and I will have so or so to do another clean-install one day. I created a restore-point before I installed the updates this time. But I installed "MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.1.2014.UPDATE.X64.ONLY.MSU.9600.16610.WINBLUE_S14.140201-1007-WZT" and uninstalled KB2919355-x64 after I had some BSOD's. I couldn't un-install KB2919442-x64. That is, why you see that KB2919442-x64 got installed on the 16.03.2014 and the rest today.
I suspect that the old 2919442 is probably the cause of the 2919355 failure. There's probably some file that didn't get updated when using newer versions. It's probably also the reason my daughter's computer wouldn't update. edit: I'm not sure there's any sort of cure for this. If the proper updating procedure doesn't overwrite the proper files, you'd have to do things manually by like copy/pasting over existing files and editing database entries... In short, I think you're queued up for a re-install session.
