I have made a United Kingdom 8.1 Update 1 ISO but the setup now says My language is English twice, how do I fix this? I only want en-GB no en-US fullback.
I have a question, everytime a log into windows with Update 1 installed, the desktop flashes for one time. This never happened without Update 1.It also happened with older Update 1(16610 etc).Is it normal ?
Maybe try to reinstall video drivers. The majority of the time when you see anything related to video, it is video drivers (I say this because it isn't always the case lol).
I've reinstalled video drivers many times, with DDU, nothing changed. This happens only with Update 1.
I know Thurrott mentioned Apr 2 for MSDN. Wouldn't it be hilarious if what MS put there was a package of the update files? Do we know for sure that ISOs are going up (as is usually the case for Windows)? Further thought: Can anyone remember a time when mere days before the public release of Windows ISOs that there hadn't already been a leak of same, usually weeks before?
I also had the same issue. I did clean installation of win8.1 then updated to update 1 and the flashing was gone...
Maybe i should install only Update 1 after clean install, now i'll wait for official release then i'll decide. Thanks for confirming it.
Are there any new language packs available for the Update 1. I've installed the "old" language pack for the windows 8.1 on top of the update 1, it works, but the new stuff isn't translated (for example, the new context menu).
Nobody knows for sure if they'll release isos or not, we're just guessing they will because OEMs got them. Paul Thurrot claims Update 1 will be released on MSDN on April 2nd. Everybody will get the update through windows update on April 8th. No LPs have been leaked yet, I guess they'll turn up on Windows Update on April 8th. I remember WZOR said something about the LPs being available for OEMs, but I have to look that up since WZOR's blog is down... EDIT: here you go:
That's a really bad way to do it. If you cannot uninstall the 2919355, re-apply the language pack, and re-install 2919355, you might consider re-installing. You will have big problems applying language pack over wrong versions of things. You're lucky you don't have black boot screen of death already.
You can't be sure of that! They might just release the MSUs and don't provide updated ISOs! (although I do believe that they'll release ISOs too)
I don't care if will be ISO file to update 1. It take 30 minutes (approximately) to install : 1) 15 minutes windows 8.1 (and then) 2) 15 minutes update 1
