For your info: This is quoted from the Windows Springboard Series Blog, Posted on: Apr 02, 2014 by Ben Hunter "[h=4]· Updating from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1[/h]If you are currently updating computers from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 by leveraging the automated upgrade process (“setup.exe /auto:upgrade”) available in volume license versions of Windows 8.1 (Pro and Enterprise), you can swap out the current Windows 8.1 installation files that you are using (which includes the INSTALL.WIM, SETUP.EXE, and all other related setup files from the Windows 8.1 media) and replace it with the new files from the updated Windows 8.1 ISO available from the Volume License Service Center on April 14th. That saves you the trouble of installing the new updates separately."
I had been running 8.1 Pro with the leaked update installed. Had not received any windows updates since installing it. Decided to upgrade to the recent MSDN updated iso. Would not take my retail key - had to use the generic install key. No issues encountered. Activation was lost. Replaced activation using the toolkit - no problem. None of that was a surprise (except maybe not taking the retail key to install). What did surprise me was having 6 important updates when I checked Windows Update afterward. Don't know if that is in any way meaningful, just thought I would share my experience.
Can you post the KB numbers of those updates? I integrated the MSDN MSU's to my spanish ISO and there were no updates, except two for .NET 3.5 which I always enable via DISM.
Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2938527) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2898868) Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2928680) Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2894853) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2901125) Update for Microsoft Camera Codec Pack for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2899189) Those are the ones available after the installation completed.
i can't install kb2939087 or kb2919355 msu but it just failed, I try to use DISM manual install, no luck could anyone examine the log and tell me what happen? and if it related the error was 0x8e5e0152
