Is it normal that when you install Windows 8.1 it makes a 300mb Recovery Partition, or is this only for if you have a UEFI PC?
Ok, thanks. So I have two partitions a 100mb one and a 300mb one, also how do I use the Recovery Partition, do I need it? What would happen if I formatted the 300mb one, and merge the 300mb partition to the C: partition?
Not Recovery in means OEM Recovery Partition. It's Windows RE (Repair Environment), that's also part of the Install Media. Could be used to Repair StartUp or Reset/Refresh system from advanced boot options.
If you fresh install windows 8.1, it is better to delete all partition and merge it to the partition C. The installation process will create new Recovery and System partition.
I have a question, is this for Internet Explorer only ? I have ''uninstalled'' IE via ''Turn Windows Features On Or Off'' and moving the folder to another HDD isn't working. It shows nothing and everytime i sign into windows a 1 second flash/refresh happens to desktop and Intel RST icon isn't showing in taskbar. So i assume that the folder move works only if you use IE ?
hello i have retail key and download en_windows_8.1_professional_vl_with_update_x64_dvd_4065194 is it retail update iso for 8.1
Huh, you must be joking. Go through the file name, it is VL. en_windows_8.1_professional_vl_with_update_x64_dvd_4065194
I think I have read it somewhere, but couldn't remember correctly: VL(volume license) means there is only pro image(i.e. only 1 index, no core), and no WMC upgrade, but you could enter retail key and activate. Correct me if I am wrong.
thx for answer me how about this one: en_windows_embedded_8.1_industry_pro_with_update_x 64_dvd_4065122.iso
