So I downloaded these files in two different sites: 1- Neowin.#et 2- Microsoft.#om Does anybody know what is going on? In reviewing them, and downloaded from the two sites. These three files are listed on one, but not on the other(vice versa) Neowin kb2919355 kb2919442 (THIS) kb2939087 (THIS) kb2932046 kb2937592 kb2938439 Microsoft File Name Size Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu 690.8 MB Windows8.1-KB2932046-x64.msu 48.0 MB Windows8.1-KB2934018-x64.msu (THIS) 126.4 MB Windows8.1-KB2937592-x64.msu 303 KB Windows8.1-KB2938439-x64.msu
If the old RTM updates (6.3.9600.17031) were installed before, KB2919355 is offered again (as well as KB2939087) and is 123mb in size. On a vanilla Windows 8.1 without the leaked updates both updates are offered as well, but KB2919355 is a 888mb download and takes significantly longer to install. Either way, running WU and installing all important updates results in Windows 6.3.9600.17041 - which is the real, fullly final, RTW build of Windows 8.1 Update 1.
hey sorry for the noob question, but I've been using this site for awhile but just registered mainly because I have a problem I know you guys probably already solved.. after the 8.1 update 1 my metro icons that are on the taskbar are invisible. like the store icon, its still there when I hover over it but are clear. any help on this would be greatly appreciated.. thanks..
Don't get them offered here . Not sure what you did. Installed myself the Leaked Update and today Windows8.1-KB2934018-x64. Afterwards i only got these offered: Code: S1AVE77-PC ------ KB890830 5 MB Windows-Tool zum Entfernen bösartiger Software... S1AVE77-PC ------ KB2942844 9 MB Sicherheitsupdate für Internet Explorer Flash ... S1AVE77-PC ------ KB2933809 2 MB Update für Windows 8.1 für x64-Systeme (KB2933...
I installed that on my W8.1 laptop x64 ARM (finally WU made it available) & after restart 1 more update was available KB2933809. I installed that & restarted & now my BuildLabEx shows it as: 9600.17041 Think I'm good now
I think I see what is going on. As far as Windows Update, WSUS, and the Catalog are concerned, 2919355 *is* the entire Spring Update, thus for x64 it is 885MB, the total combined sizes of 2919355+2932046+2934018+2937592+2938439. WU and WSUS are smart enough to figure out which pieces are required for a particular client, so if you already have part of it, your download size will be smaller. It's in the Catalog, I can import it into WSUS, but it's not been directly released on WSUS yet for some reason. Perhaps as a courtesy to those system admins who don't like deploying something this huge with only a week's [public, official] warning.
Enough of this begging! Just watch the thread until what you need is posted, we could all fill the thread with requests for our specific language. Just bookmark whatever page of this thread you have read up to then next visit update that bookmark.
So since the KB2934018 is included in the KB2919355 article is a part of it. But what about the isos with the update 1. Is it integrated?
I have KB2919355 installed before manually, and today installed just KB2934018, and nothing offered regarding KB2919355 Oh really? how about you run in admin cmd and see what the result is: Code: Dism /Online /? 6.3.9600.17041 is the version of the updated kernel file, not the whole Windows 8.1 Update
Srange, I use the windows 8.1 update from msdn posted 6 days ago (2nd april), installed earlier today Windows8.1-KB2934018-x64 and now I decided to add a language pack, after that update 2919355(761.1 mb) and 2894853 appeared in WU
Expected behaviour, lang packs does not contain newer resources in the updates don't worry, only language resources will be downloaded and installed, not the whole 2919355
