Yes it happens more than what is comfortable. Two issues that I have seen with 8.1 u1: (a) desktop and icons not clickable/respondable for like 1-15 secs on startup (b) occassional green progress bar when I click my computer and want to see all partitions. Have learnt to live with it since this happens only when windows starts up. After that it works fine.
Same problem here desktop will freeze for like 15 seconds during startup and after that everything works fine, it happens only after installing this update. Problem persists even after clean install.
My laptop is 1 year old Dell inspiron 15r and Update means Windows 8.1 with update. I tried both ways with clean install and from windows update but the result is same.
if i install the ISO and use VL KMS 180 days activation, and later get hold of an upgrade retail key, can i use it without reinstalling?
Update 1 is like a Service Pack, it contains all previously released windows updates (including Rollup A, of course)
Will I have the same effect after installation windows_8.1_with_update_x64_dvd_4048528.iso with ei.cfg (below) to installation of untouched windows_8.1_professional_vl_with_update_x64_dvd _4050466.iso?
After installing a Volume Key a Retail System will become a Volume one. Only a little difference in auto reactivation against a real KMS Host . As i would assume an Emulator (i.e. MTK or KMSpico) will be used, it will make no difference.
There was a mouse lag problem when using high polling mices in Windows 8.1 There was a patch (KB2908279) that was supposed to solve it Is it solved in Windows 8.1 with Update?
Short answer, yes. Long answer, yes but you still would have to add the various games to the registry that are still problematic.
What's the situation about language packs, does anyone have some solid info on this? I see that MSDN doesn't have any new language packs, just the original Windows 8.1 ones released in September 2013. Specifically: 1) Can the original Windows 8.1 language packs be installed on top of Windows 8.1 with Update? 2) If so, is it necessary to re-install any part of the Update after installing the language pack? 3) How can I, offline, starting with one of the new MSDN iso such as Windows 8.1 Enterprise with Update, end up with a system with a second language also installed?
