I will get this and upload it to MEGA once my download is done.
It's right now at 6% in Windows Update, going terrible slow.

Edit: I think it actually stopped now. :p

Can someone with things installed grab the MSU files and upload them? Wonder if setting the same flag on server 2012 R2 allows access?

Mine is also extremely slow. I have a 300mbit connection and currently stuck at 4%.

I have the feeling that Microsoft figured it out and switched it off immediately.
Can't seem to get the update again now. Hope someone who did installed the latest one can upload it.

Edit: Oh wait, got it again now. I cancelled the stuck one to retry.. :p

Looking at Resource Monitor, explorer.exe is connected to bn1wns1011502.wns.windows.com (yours may be different) and I'm getting single/double digit B/sec

EDIT: So, I cancelled it and "Try Again" and it jumped to 43%!

Mine all of a sudden skipped to 46% - just be patient with it, it will start moving again.

After seeing the updates in WU, open windowsupdate.log with notepad, open Find, search for "when file has not been previously added to the datastore", F3 until the section timestamped recently (when you added the key). Copypast the whole section with the new updates added to the list of updates that is being offered.

Just confirmed on a VM, adding the same key to the registry in Server 2012 R2 displays the Update 1 files.

Question - is this reg entry for a clean windows 8.1 build or for the latest leaked build?

    Thanks in advance

Try it and see (assuming you have a clean 8.1)

I have applied to a clean install of 8.1 - no leaks installed (all windows updates installed). The update files were revealed after adding reg key and restarting windows update service.

there is no progress bar from 1 to 100% by design
It sticks at 4%, proceeds to 54% and then completes ... done

talking about x86 system, did not play with x64 but will try soon

edit: same thing with x64 and works perfectly
