I also installed all 4 updates in the order suggested, rebooting between each of them. No problems, no issues. Windows working just fine.
Lazy? What is the big deal about waiting 25 minutes, it is not like you have to expend a huge amount of effort while waiting for the update to install.
This leak is kind of interesting. The big update is actually build 17019, the supplemental MSU updates select components to 17025, but leaves things like IE and DISM on 17019. Just thought I would mention it as I found it to be rather odd, never seen anything like this before, so this has to be some internal build to build upgrade MSU for the employees who are dogfooding this.
In an old computer like this it's a pain in the ass. I said 25 minutes but I just installed the big update and it just toke 50 minutes from the double click on the msu until it says to me to restart Windows. After this I'll need to wait 5 or more minutes and then I'll have my PC available again.
acually, this is not something new or odd since Windows 8, monthly roll-up updates sometimes has one or two or even three supplemental updates for certain components
So do something else while it installs, grab a cup of coffee or give your girlfriend the pickle tickle
Just a note: Windows8.1-KB2919442-x64.msu that was with 16610 is 10,275 kb and the one with 17025 is 10,458 kb !!! I have skipped it any way and I hope the difference is due to packaging. I have just had an other thought, I am considering reinstalling Windows8.1-KB2919442-x64.msu. Is it possible that Microsoft made changes to it, as it is not officially released yet? We can see that they have done that to Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu.
No, KB2919442 leaked today is newer release 6.3.1.7 the one with 16610 is 6.3.1.3 same thing with KB2919355
How do you know it's the wrong font? Maybe that's the font MS have chosen, you know, to go with the consistency throughout the rest of the OS
attention: for KB2919442-1-x64.msu you have to need 5gb free space i have to make free space, becouse first time this update give error
There is no option to uninstall the old Windows8.1-KB2919442-x64.msu. If I try to install the new one, I get a message saying "Update is not applicable to your computer". It is too late at night to see if rolling back would work. I hope Windows8.1-KB2919442-1-x64.msu covers whatever the difference is. By the way, the DISM /online /? gives 6.3.9600.17019
