DISCUSSION: Windows 8.1 Spring 2014 Update RTM

Guys, super fast and dumb question. Because I'm at work and I can't read the entire post.

I installed all the updates in the correct order. Now when I go into system properties,control panel personalize etc I get a blank window that says "The page failed to load" Any ideas?

 

Is this only in the metro version? I don't see anything different in desktop IE
EDIT: checked Metro IE too, don't see a special indication that sound is playing!

 

Hi everybody! I've been trying to install the big guy kb2919355 since yesterday but it says "the update is NOT installed"... how can I install it, then? I've already tried to use the cmd command sfc /scannow... thank a lot!

 

Is a language pack absolutely required? I took a enUS win8.1 disc image, installed it, updated it with WU, installed update 1's stuff (the 6 updates), and had no errors, no other language or pack installed.

 

I did it, and everything is working great, BUT, maybe, if the order isn't perfect, maybe something might be broken?

 

Thanks for the clarification shouldn't be too hard to integrate these into the WIM of both Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1. That being said are you already doing that Murphy?

And can you send me the directions for how you did so for reference later

 

you'd got any notification if something went wrong, so sit back and relax

 

check if you are at disc space limit. If not enough room, update might fail

Nope, only mentioned it for being as exact as possible . As murphy78 already stated the Update is language independent.

 

any stupid AV-soft around which disallows installation?

currently I am using microsoft windows defender, so I do not think this is the case you say... Do you think it may be StartIsBack+? I can uninstall it and try again

Can't get 2919335 to install. I installed 2919442 & 2939087 (restarted after each) and it said they installed, but I looked in the control panel and it says those 2 are pending restart. I have restarted many times and also shutdown once. Still no luck? It says "update not applicable to your computer". I looked in the installed updates and there is another one (2919355) installed. I was going to uninstall, but can't figure out how to?
