Thanks a lot for the links ! Anyone could explain what is the order ? Because there is multiple ways... Thanks
Yes. Doesn't matter what order. I would personally use the order: 2919442 2939087 2919355 2932046 2937592 2938439 If you get to 2919355 and it won't install, you likely need to re-install Windows.
The 713 MB Is taking a lot of time to install for me....Has gone only halfway and took 30 mins :/ I'm installing 17025 Update for WMC Win 8.1
If you see it has gone half way, let it work. Sometimes it might take a long time. As long as you dont see the install has failed popup, then just let it do its magic
Make sure you do startcomponentcleanup /resetbase and also dism /export-image, this will shrink your wim a bit.
Again, as long as you have not gotton any error message, just let it take its corse. Sometimes it might take a long time depending on your PC Edit: Damn Paul, you beat me to it LOL
You Guys Were Right... Now the installer is asking me to restart my Laptop... Will see you guys after the restart...Hope it takes not that much time to restart that it took to intall
You have to think of this Spring Update like a Service Pack. Thoes could have taken 30 mins to 1 hour to install. Just start the install and go watch a 30 min to an hour TV show
Cant resetbase these things... They set pending flags which block both the /startcomponentcleanup and /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase
I did install it today. Took 20-25 mins with restarts. After install, C: drive usage went up, but with cleanup WinSxS (which took longer at an additional 10-12 mins), I think it was close to back to its pre-install size. Whatever improvements were made must have been made largely under the hood though some new (not necessarily vastly better) things were visible. Perhaps it might be worthwhile for someone to open a thread as to improvements in performance, bugs, etc. Visually there is nothing different it seems. Of course, the start account pic has a power option (big help??)
My Lap is not that slow....Well now the time to reveal the secret... I Was Playing Assassin's Creed 4 While installing this update... I Guess that's the reason for the slow install.... And thanks everyone
actually both me and a friend had two different netbooks (mine is ASUS) with windows 7 starter installed we tried windows 8.1 pro and both netbooks run incredibly faster
The update screwed up my x64 apps ,all of them failed to start and gave the BEX64 error . Uninstalled in the same order fixed the problem .
oh, you should note that its is necessary to close all applications when doing an update. Lucky you that nothing has happened during this process
Doing things like that while installing that type of update is just asking for problems. Wow, Paul you are quick.
