Well, strictly speaking, there's never a final release as it would mean development has completely stopped and there won't be any further changes. Therefore, when one declares something final or RTM, it's merely just a tag, a milestone on a road of which you can't see for how long or where it goes on. Personally, I think it's very likely that 9600.17031 is RTM. Everybody was reporting/blogging that the Spring 2014 Update hit RTM, including Foley and the Big Thurrottski, according to their sources and citing WZor as well, although no one named an actual build string except for WZor. Since WZor has not been wrong so many times in the past, there is a high level of accuracy when it comes to leaks like that. And if there will really be revisions to those updates, I'd guess it won't be a problem to apply them on the installed 9600.17031 release. Hmm... I guess only an OEM could 100% proof the RTM state of 9600.17031 at the moment.
When I said final release, it doesn't mean final version, it's just the final release that will hit MSDN. Build 9600.17031 is not likely RTM, it is RTM, remember last Aug. win8.1 hit RTM on 9600.16384, MSDN had this version posted, but prior to GA they posted a 2nd time, RTM slipstreamed with rollupA. No comment on MJF/PT, I once asked my friend about their "reports", his remark was "LOL, loads of crap"(I remmeber canouna AKA NTmartha made some similar remarks too).
I no longer trust any ISO or update unless I download it from the Microsoft servers. RTM used to be a heavy word in the past. RTM = Release to Manufacturing was actually the real final deal. Now it means nothing, nothing more than a beta. Perhaps RC should be the name not RTM :crystal:
Release To Manufacturing is only a mile stone from microsoft to say that it is consumer ready i Think
I cannot confirm this behaviour. E.G. "Weather"-App: Mouse at bottom of screen. Scroll downwards moves app Window to the left. No taskbar pop-up.
Point the mouse at the top edge of the screen, and then quickly pull it (swipe it) to the bottom edge
I know the difference of pointing and clicking but nothing happens here. Only thing which shows is the start button when pointing to lower left corner in an app like Weather for example
@PaulDesmond: Same here - nothing happens (except start button appears when pointing to lower left corner).
For everyone having issues with the taskbar not popping up: Make sure this option is checked or it won't work! You can also press WINKEY + T to bring up the taskbar
It does work. Please try pointing at the bottom edge of your screen somewhere in the Middle of your screen(not corners) I'm using it on my laptop & all i have to do to get the taskbar is to put the mouse at the bottom edge & scroll downwards on my trackpad. must be something similar for a normal mouse!?
no way here ... anyway must have a reason edit: yes it does work ... lol I pointed to the low end of my screen and nothing happened but when I go further down, then suddenly the task bar appears. Thanks guys for your assistance
